The Clipper — Restaurant in Foreshore

Not a very pleasant I must say. We were a group of four that decided to go for lunch. Apon arrival the reaction or welcoming from the staff was not great at all. They were a numb as can be. the first waiter came to take our order for the starter he then came back 5 minutes later for our dessert order. I asked him what about the main meal? he said they will take that at a later stage. Not long after that another waiter came and asked our main meal order, i was so confused but proceeded anyway. It felt as of they were all over the place to be honest. When our main meal came the food was mixed up, definitely not what the menu had on. We had the chicken supreme and the Prego tiger prawns, theses two meals were mixed it was not right at all. The mash is supposed to be served with the chicken and the rice with the prawns, however it was served the other way around. The chicken was so dry it was a waste. The water we ordered was dirty and they then said the ice is dirty so they not able to give us water. The orange juiced served was warm. WOW! What an amazing evening!

My boyfriend and I went on a date last night to the Commodore Hotel, Clipper restaurant, with our Daddy’s Deal 3-course voucher and it was worth every cent and more!

We were treated so kindly, and all the staff members throughout the hotel were amazing! The food was delicious and filling. We most certainly did not go hungry! We looked at their normal menu and were pleased to see their prices match the quality and quantity of food you receive.

The ambience was incredible! Quite formal inside, with high ceilings, soft lighting and interesting seafarer decor that fits well with the sea adjacent to the hotel. The outside courtyard transports you to a night in Havannah with the water fountain running and fairy lights sporting every tree.

It is located in a lively area of V & A and the hotel validates parking!

We will be returning!

Horrible service, they were so slow with everything the drinks and food. The food was beyond disappointing, my partner had a steak that was supposed be medium rare, it came burnt and well done. The pepper sauce was horrible with the steak. The desserts are even worse the lemon meringue had no taste (taste like hospital dessert). I had the oero cheesecake instead of getting a slice like the other customers got, I got a circlular oero cheesecake. We were the second couple to arrive the Manager checked on everyone already and when we were leaving she only checked on us. I don't know if it's because we were a young couple but you don't treat your customers differently.
