The Dros in Greenstone has been an old favorite over the years and while it doesnt have the nest ambience that we enjoy at other restaurants, the food is very well priced and delicious. Daily specials are always on offer ...We decided on the calamari and hot peri peri chicken livers for R70. All portions are HUGE ! More than enough for a 2nd full meal even for a big eater like myself. The calamari was some of the best we have ever had.Grilled to perfection and topped with a lemon butter sauce and baked potato. They offer 20% discount for pensioners...very generous...we are not in that category yet. The peri peri chicken livers were soft and tasty. The HOT was just the way I love it...hot, spicy and delicious. Often hot sauces can overpower the base food..but this was beautifully balanced. It also came with an ample portion of soft pita bread that had been pizza oven cooked. A 5 star performance. We were stuffed ro the brim but wanted a main meal we could take home for the next day. We love eisbein...so for R125 each we ordered this with chips for me and baked potato for my partner. The normal way this is prepared and served os by deep frying in oil .The skin then becomes very crisp. The Dros does it pleasantly differently. My fries were perfect. Fried in new oil , crisp on the outside and soft on the onside. When the eisbein arrived it had been marinaded in a dark fruity sauce, parts of the crackling were perfectly crisp but others were soft and thick and so tasty you just wanted to gobble the lot. We were too full to eat it and took it home. This eisbein then went into a breakfast and small lunch....and our dog had a feast on the bones. I can honestly say that the meal was superb, i expensive at R580 including tip 15%, 3 x non alcoholic beers, 2 x black label beers, carafe of Rose, 2 x superb starters and 2 main meals that turned into more at home. Superb value and taste. Highly recommended, good service, secure parking , plenty of space on the top deck with wide screen tv ofering sport

Terrible experience at Dros Edenvale edenvale arrived and the lady said sit anywhere and disappeared. We went to one table it was broken and Layla almost fell 9n her face. We found a cubicle and sat there my bench was broken.... then after half an hour 9f waiting I had to go and ask the lady behind the bar for menus and service. A lady came to bring menus and a kiddies activity thing but no pencils to do the activity. Layla wanted pizza she couldnt have pizza because the pizza guy was only going to arrive in an hour. She had to order fish, but I asked is there a kiddies portion of fish and she said no kiddies menu. So Layla got fish and chips and I got a beef and chicken burger. We asked for pencils to do the activities and she brought us the bluntest pencils. Eventually i was helping Layla with the activity so i lifted the page and there was a kids menu on the back that i had asked for earlier. Anyways the food came after I had 2 drinks which is long, and the patties on my burger were tiny, the sauce for chips was not good and the chips themselves were so undercooked that Layla couldnt eat them. Layla tried to eat the fish she then needed to vomitt and we rushed to the bathroom where the dustbin was open and tissue paper all over. She threw up, we paid and left. There was no manager in sight to complain to..... there was also a fire place that started smoking the whole place out which no one did anything about and we left smelling like smoke. We will not be dining there ever again. Waste of money.

I've always been a fan of this particular Dros because the service is usually quick and friendly and the food always fresh and made with a homely touch. You don't find many restaurants with both these ticks. Today though, the staff were a bit lax but I'll put it down to the weather. Area wise it is pretty spacious - there is an upstairs and downstairs section - however the downstairs is quite dimly lit which some people may mistake for dingy. There's a cool outside section with a jungle gym to keep bigger kids occupied. There is an indoor play area for younger kids but it is quite empty and not really 'inviting'. It would be great to add a bit of brightness and fun toys or activities in there to keep young minds intrigued. Otherwise a nice atmosphere.

I ordered a R500 meal with a tip from The Dros Stoneridge through Uber Eats for my fiances birthday. A lady driver accepted the order (her name was something along the lines of Tshiphinda), her profile said she was both an uber driver and an ubereats delivery person and had completed over 3k trips. Her profile picture is a selfie with a prominent poster of Jesus behind her. She arrived at the restaurant and parked quite far away, i watched on the app as she sat there for about 5 mins and I presumed she was waiting for the restaurant to wrap up. Suddenly the app said another driver was on his way to collect the order and her profile disappeared. The order was reassigned to about 4 different drivers after that so I called the restaurant and the manager confirmed that the first driver, a lady, had collected the order 30mins ago and he now had 4 other drivers waiting at the store for the same order. I contacted Ubereats support as this experience not only wasted the time and money of 4 other drivers but it completely ruined my fiances birthday. Yes the money was refunded but my worry is that she operates in the area and no responsibility was taken by ubereats to ensure something would be done to stop her from doing this in the future. By the time the manager had confirmed what happened, curfew was in place and it was not possible to order from somewhere else. Despite multiple emails and chats on the support part of the app no reassurance or accountability has been taken by uber to follow up with the driver who essentially stole on purpose and is still operating under their umbrella. There is no way to report or flag her. In these times uber is facing such bad press with how much they pay their drivers and now there is No way to report a driver that is a thief. I can never order from the Dros again in good faith because this same woman might collect and repeat the theft with no...
