As a business owner and food enthusiast, I’d like to share my honest review of Jjunda, a new Korean BBQ restaurant. Initially, I was inclined to rate this establishment 3 stars, but I’m mindful of being fair to a new business finding its footing. During my visit, we ordered half chicken, chicken wings, Master Platter for BBQ, noodles, and Boba tea. Unfortunately, the Boba tea was quite disappointing; it lacked flavor, especially in comparison to the many other Boba teas I've tried. The noodles didn’t appeal to me either, though that could be a matter of personal taste. On a more positive note, the chicken wings and half chicken were standout dishes. The flavors were excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed both. However, the Master Platter left much to be desired. For R450, the portion of meat provided was underwhelming, as reflected in the attached photo. While Korean BBQs may be priced for the experience, it’s hard to appreciate when the food quality and portion sizes don’t justify the cost. In summary, the meat portion was not worth the price. Unless the meat quality improves, I’m unlikely to return. Perhaps if I’m in the mood to splurge, I might give it another try, but for now, I’d rather go somewhere else where I can enjoy a full steak meal for less.

Not worth it anymore, sad that this used to be a brilliant restaurant! We have been avid patrons of this restaurant, this was our go to stop, the twice cooked beef ribs were the most tender, tasty ribs I had ever had, and all the food and service was excellent, NOT THE CASE ANYMORE! The Mongolian lamb fried rice came with out its normal tomato based sauce and when we complained to the waiter over the phone he first talked so softly you could not hear a word he said even after asking him to speak up, what a person like that was doing answering the phone instead of someone with a voice is beyond me and a management issue, after eventually getting the point across to him he offered no solution or compensation, so I asked for the manager(clearly incompetent) who then proceeded to make me w8 while talking it over with the staff and then proceeded to offer one excuse after the next...I eventually had to hang up because it was clear that he wasn’t going to try help me! The food quality has gone downhill so much I will not eat there any more! The flavours are lacking from what they were the food was dry and flavourless in general and thrown together with out any care or pride in what they were doing, Honestly if this continues they don’t deserve to stay open!

Well... that was quite simply delicious. The food is a magnificent explosion of flavours and the presentation is divine. This Asian fusion kitchen is guaranteed to take you on quite a journey. It is well worth sharing a selection of dishes between a couple of friends to get a taste of as many dishes as possible. It's just too good to simply commit to a single meal. They have an amazing selection of teas if you want to sip on something... buuuut, as of September 2019 they still haven't secured a liquor license, so you can still bring-your-own-booze. Yay! At times, there have been "issues with the authorities" as they put it. Give them a call and ask if you can bring a cooler before you pop in. The only niggle is that the acoustics aren't great, so it can get loud inside. Overall it's an awesome restaurant.

Overall experience is good. The only 4 disappointment points would really want to bring up to the owner's attention:-

Portion - only 1 slice/piece of zucchini, aubergine, green pepper & mushroom that comes with the Master Set/BBQ. Do see for yourself from the video taken. Come on, does giving few more slices/pieces of these veggies will cost you your arms and your legs?

Refill side dishes - I have dined at so many Korean restaurants in my life all over the world. This is the first time I need to pay to refill on the side dishes? Even to refilling of the sauces need to pay. SERIOUSLY this is ridiculous ......

Dessert - I believe the owner is new in South Africa 😅 no dessert on the menu? This is a JOKE 🤣

Signage - we couldn't find the place as there isn't signage being displayed even though it has been opened for couple of months.

It make sense their review score is 3.6. Therefore I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND unless the owner listen to their customers. Which I doubt the owner even cares about.

The good news is they have a very experienced waiter and the taste of the...
