I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Station Parkhurst, and I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was with the exceptional service provided by Eric (I think his name was Eric). From the moment I stepped foot in the establishment, he greeted me with a warm and genuine smile, instantly making me feel welcome and valued as a customer.
Eric's friendly and approachable demeanor created a pleasant atmosphere that extended throughout my entire experience. He took the time to engage in meaningful conversations, not only about the menu options but also about my day and personal interests. It was refreshing to be treated as more than just another customer, as Eric went above and beyond to establish a personal connection.
Not only was Eric an excellent conversationalist, but his knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot-on. He attentively listened to my preferences and provided insightful suggestions tailored to my taste buds. It was evident that he possessed a deep understanding of the culinary offerings, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
Beyond his personable nature, Eric's efficiency and attentiveness were truly commendable. Despite the bustling environment, he managed to navigate through the chaos effortlessly, making sure every customer received prompt and impeccable service. He anticipated my needs, ensuring that my water glass was never empty and promptly addressing any additional requests I had.
Eric's professionalism shone through in his attention to detail. His passion for the food and the establishment itself was contagious, leaving me with a heightened sense of enthusiasm about my dining experience.

Read moreThe Station is well situated in Parkhurst and the decor is unique and inspired. All signage, decor and photos support the fabulous London Underground theme and the the toilets are particularly quirky. My "dirty" cocktail - which was achieved by sprinkling the icy glass with a brown spice - was a new one for me and, while unexpected, it did me smile. The wine list was great and the beers long and cold. Unfortunately load shedding hit just as we were ordering so the menu options were suddenly reduced and along with some other stuff, chips were off the menu. The food was generally good and well seasoned, with a very healthy dose of spice - be warned! The creamy pasta dish and the calamari/rice meal got high praise, but the two meat dishes left room for improvement. Tasty lamb chops were accompanied by a side salad that was drenched in a creamy, tart catering dressing which is not to everyones taste (I would recommend that they leave the dressing on the side for patrons to apply as they do with the salads ordered as mains) and the steak was by far the smallest I have seen served at a restaurant. On a high note, the creme brulee dessert and accompanying ice cream was excellent. The two missing stars reflect two major problems that we encountered; the staff were not attentive and almost every time we needed something we had to get up and find someone. The restaurant was not busy at all (which perhaps may be exactly why the service was poor?) and the waitress overlooked one of our guests orders (again indicating their lack of attention) and by the time it arrived, the rest of us were almost all done with our meals. I generally feel that when a restaurant makes an error like this, the apology should be rapid (no explanation was offered to us by either the waiter or the manager - assuming there was one on duty?) and that one meal comped...I was disappointed on both accounts and hence the three stars for...
Read moreThis is one of those places which is effortlessly classy. The Front of House manager made a special effort to call me by my first name each time she saw me wandering around, which is rare. I ordered a pot of fillet steak cubes in a mild peri peri sauce, with a side of Parmesan and truffle fries. See what I mean about effortlessly classy? Best of all, the food delivered! Steak was lovely and tender. You really come here for the London ambience though: from the big TVs with videos of the London Underground, to all the train decor items absolutely everywhere … the vibe hits you in the face, but in a way you’ll like. The biggest criticism I have is that for a restaurant that has a reasonably sized menu, the desserts menu has three items. All rather boring options (one was Malva and one was Cookies and Cream). Meh. I was all ready to end my visit with something decadent like “trio of truffles” or “Willy Wonka’s Delight”, but it’s like they got to the end of the menu and all the creativity everywhere else just ran out. My challenge to the station: introduce some new dessert items, and I’ll be there to try...
