I went to the drive-through. My order was taken well and when we went to pay for it, I was asked for R80 less. So I asked the lady taking orders to repeat my order, which she did and which was actually what we ordered so I paid assuming the price shown on the screen whilst placing the order must have been wrong. When we got to collection, I was handed the incorrect items so I said I didn’t want the items and before I could explain what, how or why - the lady meant to SERVE customers WALKED AWAY and LEFT US there completely unattended. She said I was shouting at the wrong person, which flabbergasted me because I wasn’t even raising my voice nor was I rude! Instead, surely WALKING AWAY WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOUR CUSTOMER WANTED TO SAY would be the definition of rude? That behavior however, annoyed me and I instantly become irate at that point. Someone then tried to help, but given such despicable behavior from someone meant to serve customers instead - I felt that very lady would end up spitting in my food. (Let’s not forget the viral video of a McDonald’s employee throwing someone’s food on the floor as she was preparing it). It’s very distasteful behaviour to WALK AWAY from a customer who is trying to explain you are handing the incorrect order. I asked for a refund instead. Which I got from their “smart leader”. This gentleman recognised her behavior was unacceptable and tried to make right but unfortunately for me the damage was done. I was even offered a free meal but I didn’t want that. I wanted what I ordered and I was more than willing to pay for it! This woman must have really had a terrible day and needed to take her frustrations out on someone else to the extent dereliction of duty became a norm. I ended up going to another McDonald’s and to my surprise THEY WERE CHEAPER for the same items. How does that work? That tells me this branch is just an issue. The sad thing is, I wouldn’t have cared about that, but because of such terrible...
Read moreWorst experience ever. I went there this morning for breakfast drive thru and tried using my points from the app. When ordering and providing my M-code number, I was told to drive to the window, but by the time I arrived at the window the code had expired due to the long queue. So I complained about this and the manager was called. After explained the situation, she told me that they don’t take codes over the intercom “because they argue too often with the customers” - really, who says that? Then she proceeds to tell me to wait 45 minutes and try again. Wait, what? Is she serious? As a manager she was not competent to deal with this situation but neither was she able to fix anything or manage the situation. I left and am never going back there. The customer service has a lot to be desired and they’re just a bunch of cheats.
By the way, I went back to the app 45 minutes later to check - and no, my account was not credited back with the points that were deducted due to the expired code. What a liar. Do not come here. If they’re not ethical enough in this case, imagine how ethical the rest of the...
Read moreMcDonald's, a familiar name that often conjures images of fast food for kids or convenient coffee meet-ups. It's a place that doesn't particularly stand out but doesn't disappoint either.
What caught my attention during my recent visit was the ordering system. It was surprisingly efficient and innovative. Instead of the usual long queues, there were self-ordering kiosks available. This not only saved time but also allowed for a more personalized ordering experience. After placing the order, the payment process was quick and hassle-free.
The option to pay and then either take a seat or wait for your coffee was convenient. It caters to those in a hurry and those looking to enjoy a relaxed coffee break.
While McDonald's may not be the go-to place for gourmet dining, it does offer a consistent and convenient experience. It's a reliable choice when you need a quick bite or a caffeine fix. So, if you're looking for a place to satisfy your cravings without any fuss, McDonald's...
