RocoMamas Rivonia — Restaurant in Gauteng

We were invited to have a meal by Paul Dembsey, who owns RocoMamas Rivonia, to supper tonight.

Temperatures were taken and sanitizer was offered on welcome by manager. Tables were sanitized an masks were worn by staff and patrons.

The burgers were well cooked and all the food was phenomenal.

Thank you for caring for me and my family, it was a pleasure to dine at you restaurant.

The owner, Paul, contacted me about the review that I posted below, the very next morning.

Understandably, in these trying times for our restaurant sector, reviews like mine can have a negative effect.

He identified the need to sort out all the faults below.

Great response...

They are obviously very busy with orders from Uber and Mr Delivery. The screaming and chaos was a bit too much.

I was not offered sanitizer when I walked in, no temperature control.

I had to point out that the one chef had his mask over his mouth and not his nose. I pointed it out to a manager who asked him to cover up. Protocols set by govt need to be adhered to, imagine the infection that he could spread to customers. Another lady making drinks also had her mask just covering her mouth.

The food was under-cooked and we had to throw the burgers away...

Especially disappointing considering I waited for 45 minutes to get my order.

I will not be going to Rocomamas...

These burgers remind me of a time when I was a little squeak. When my father would get me a burger. It was always–so tasty and mighty large. But that could be that, of course –I was a little squeak. In short nothing but a little/BEEG slice of heaven. Soooo–Yummy and delicious! I didn't think I would be such a huge fan! I will have to confess that I am.

If you feel like something meaty! This is your place, and if you have family members that are not into meaty. They cater for everyone. You can choose your own protein to add with a choice of Beef, Chicken, Vegetarian or Southern Fried Chicken.

The G-Shakes aka Milkshakes are worth every penny. If I could buy one every other day, I would. There are 8-flavours to pick from: Belgian Chocolate, Blueberry, Butter toffee, Espresso, Peanut butter, Oreo and of course the classics like Bubblegum and Strawberry.

I had an incredible experience at Roco's Rivonia. Our waiter (Bafana if I recall correctly) was an absolute gem.

He was the friendlies, most amazing waiter I've had in years.

I had powered through most of my chilli cheese fries when I happen to ask him about the super hot wing challenge. He told me it's not currently running but he can hook me up with the hot chip spice so I can sample it. He asked the manager who then got me a whole new chilli cheese chip portion caked in this spice. Let me tell you.... The heat builds up with every bite.

Most people wouldn't have gone through all that effort.

I had the Slow Burn burger and my wife had the the big dipper. Both were juice and packed with flavour.

I enjoyed the bacon chilli jam on the slow burn complimented by the sweet caramalised onion.

The big dipper was also amazing, it isn't on the menu. If you want to try it just ask for it!
