Mugg & Bean — Restaurant in Gauteng

Worst experience ever at a mugg & bean restaurant, I took my boyfriend out for breakfast on his birthday on the 1st of March 2022 and I honestly regret us going there, the food looked so horrible. The service was even worse it was as if we weren't served properly because we're not white, as we saw them serve every white person very well.

Our waitress took her sweet time to do anything, my boyfriend asked for water with ice and lemon, not only did we have to remind our waitress but when the water came it came with no lemon. Then she had to take back our hot beverages because she had forgotten that we asked to have them with the food.

Eventually after forever our food came and when it did it was not impressive at all, it looked so basic, like something a child could do, our toast came with no butter/margarine. When I tried consuming my dirty chai, as I was stirring I found an empty sachet of sugar inside my cup and you could tell it had been in there for a very long time because it looked like it was burnt by the hot water.

My boyfriend called her and raised this complaint and I bet if I was her I'd be surprised too, then I tell her to bring the bill as we had had enough of the bad treatment. As per norm the lady took her sweet time we had to follow her to the paying station so we could get the bill, it's the fact that she asked me if that's all I'm paying when I gave her back the slip indirectly asking if I'm not gonna tip her, and honestly I just remained calm for my boyfriend cause this woman didn't try to serve us, pity I didn't get her name and I would hate to ruin her reputation but she made me regret going to mugg & bean for the very first time, and it was evident that we got poor service due to our skin color.

I wouldn't encourage any black people to go to the mugg & bean in fourways mall simply because we're black people and our own black people fail dismally to serve as paying customers, you'd swear we went there cause we had a coupon of some sort. I wish I could give it zero stars but it...

The worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Absolutely awful. We ordered food and it looked nothing like the menu's. We found endless fibres in our food, I don't know if it's the drying cloth they use, but we sent our food back untouched and we were not willing to pay. The waiting time is ridiculous. Our waitress Nobe was kind but unfortunately she wasn't tidy and didn't look well kept because her uniform was dirty. We had some chicken wings that came with a blue cheese dressing/sauce. The sauce was stale and tough, it looked like butter. We sent it back to get it warmed up so it's of a better consistency, but the sauce seperated. I'm never ever going to this branch ever again. I never enjoy breakfast at Mugg and bean. I appreciate that they have a few vegan items on the menu but it's always weird things. I don't know one person that ever said, I could really go grab a falafel burger now. Happy to see a shake on the menu! Where's our choc chip muffin or breakfast sausage? We asked to make our own breakfast with fried onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, chips and toast. The waitress somehow misunderstood us and an hour late brought us omelets with those toppings. She looked confused when we told her it's not what we ordered. She said, there's no cheese. I had to explain we did not ask for omelets. So an hour and a half later we got our food.
