I visited today for lunch, upon my arrival i asked the waiter if the 3 course meal for R139 is still on, she said yes, i then proceeded to get a table. I ordered the starter and the main but did not order the dessert as yet. When i received my food the starters came with the main so the food got cold. as it was time for dessert i was not sure if i could get only a waffle or i could swap it for a milkshake, between 2 waitresses, that were serving me since they needed to help each other, the one that initially served me in the beginning said that i may take a G-bomb milkshake. I ordered the milkshakes and asked for the bill at the same time, she brought it both to me (take away milkshake and bill) as i paid (R410) i realized i was charged for the milkshakes additionally and i it was not part of the special. I called the waitress back and asked her why i was over charged she said that i asked for the milkshakes as well as the waffles. Mind you i paid and was on my way out without receiving waffles. She insisted that she told me that i cant get a milkshake and have to take the waffle, had that been the case i would not have ordered the milkshakes and taken the waffles. I asked to speak to a manager to resolve the misunderstanding, an African lady approached the table with a ton of attitude, without listening to what i had to say she insisted i still have to pay the full bill. When i explained that i had not received the waffles she said that i cant have the milkshakes as a take away (no relation to the problem). At this point i was frustrated, and wanted the issue to be solved yet the staff continued arguing with me. I did not get any of their names during all of this. Finally the Indian male manager approached and asked what the issue was, i explained after much consideration he said that he will refund my monies for the milkshakes. i wanted my tip back but at this point i just wanted to leave. The African lady along with the waitresses continued arguing the point that in future i should not the milkshakes as its not part of the special and instead it was last years promo. What a terrible experience with such incompetent staff who cant take accountability. As a person who works in the restaurant industry there is many faults in this situation(I'm not saying the customer is always right but in this case i really don't think i was at fault), doubt i will ever go back. and i hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, ever! to verify my complaint i was there at around +-2pm, sitting at a table right outside the restaurant, wearing black and white cameras should be...

Read moreAs salaamu-alaikum I've never left a negative review for an establishment before but was beyond disheartened with the experience we had at RocoMamas yesterday. Considering there are only two halaal RocoMamas in Johannesburg we really look forward to eating there and gladly make the trip as the food is quality, however yesterday we arrived and were seated and waited atleast 10 mins before a waiter came to our table and even though it was busy there were waiters standing around idly, after eventually being attended to,we placed our order and received it relatively fast. However upon arrival I was deeply disappointed at the portion size, a full nachos which is now priced at R125(price increase since the BOY-understandable with the economy),we received a small pan of nachos with uneven quantities of guac, cream cheese and salsa, 2 yrs ago the same dish was bigger and cheaper,I have no problem with paying the price but do have a problem with paying so much and receiving much less than before. Upon enquiry the staff confirmed that that is the correct portion size ,thus the question falls on management as people are paying the full price and our expectations are not being met. Additionally we ordered the Nashville Mozarella which had no cheese pull and were stiff. Definitely not worth the trip to pay so much...
