I regret to inform you that our recent visit to Salsa Menlyn Maine did not meet our expectations.
As patrons who have previously enjoyed our visits to your various venues, we were particularly excited to watch the rugby world cup finals at Salsa Menlyn Maine. Given my wife's low vision, we had taken extra care to ensure we secured a spot where she could comfortably view the game. We even visited the venue in advance to confirm that the screen was of adequate size for her to follow the action.
To ensure a seamless experience, I made the booking on Monday and specifically requested a table in front of the large screen. I reiterated this request during a further follow-up. Arriving 15 minutes ahead of our reservation, we were informed that our table had been given away by the manager. This immediately caused disappointment.
We expressed our frustration and the manager intervened, however, his response implied that he was doing us a favor by making a plan to find us new seating. This seating was far from a regular sized screen and I spoke to another employee, describing the situation, emphasizing my wife's visual impairment, and seeking a resolution that would allow us to still enjoy the game. I emphasized that we were not trying to be difficult, but merely hoped to make the best of the situation.
Fortunately, the employee I spoke with was understanding and promised to assist us. However, when the manager was brought over to address the issue, their response shocked and upset us. Without any empathy or consideration, the manager dismissively stated, "it's not my problem if she can't see," before abruptly walking away.
Feeling frustrated and disregarded, I took it upon myself to approach a waiter and request to move our table. We relocated to an open spot that happened to be in front of the regular TV, as it was the only other option available at that point.
As someone who believes in inclusivity and accessibility, I find it disheartening to encounter such insensitivity towards a disability, especially from a manager.
Unfortunately, I feel compelled to share this on various platforms to raise awareness about your lack of disability friendliness. It is my hope that by expressing my disappointment, others can make informed decisions and support businesses that prioritize inclusivity and treat their customers with the respect...
Read moreSuch horrible service that my friends and I got! Firstly we walked in and we had to seat ourselves, no one acknowledged that we were there, then the waiter eventually came with the menu. As we order our food, my friend then asked the waitress to explain the red rice with prawns and calamari dish as it was our first time there. The waitress failed to explain the dish to her but could only say ‘it’s nice’. I even asked her if she was new and she went ahead and said no. We continued to order our starters and our mains as my friend went ahead and ordered the red rice with prawns and calamari. Our mains came before our starters, we asked the other waiter that bought our mains where was our starters, he then rudely dismissed us, dropped our main meals and left. They were then followed by our starters and we had to ask the waitress to turn back the main meal.
The red rice with prawns and calamari had a lot of tomato paste and that’s the only thing we could taste on that meal, and my friend did ask before ording that meal, she then only had the prawns and didn’t finish the rest due to alsa reasons and because the dish was just distasteful. The manager came and we explained to him, he then asked my friend what would she like to replace that dish with, she asked for nachos and he agreed. We waited for those nachos for an hour or so, we then asked the waitress about the nachos as we were about to leave, she went back to the manager which clearly didn’t order the nachos, he then came and told my friend that he could not replace her dish with nachos can she choose a starter instead. We felt very disrespected by that so we chose not to order anything from the kitchen. We then received a bill that we didn’t ask for, so clearly we were no longer welcomed to the restaurant! It was our first time and clearly the last time! You can’t have customers complaining from the beginning to end. And we could’ve paid for the second plate of nachos and not for the red rice with prawns...
Read moreThe location, atmosphere, food is amazing. Best Shaken Margarita ever and it’s convenient because it’s just opposite our office. The female waiters almost never seem happy to be serving you. I went on two occasions with colleagues and once on my own. The tip of the cake though is the manager, he/she/they is exceedingly RUDE! When we got there most tables were reserved except for 2 by the door. Just as the waiter was about to sit us he said there’s people who booked for those tables and they’re coming in an hour (although they had no reserved sign) I calmly explained that we’re just having drinks so we will be gone in an hour. He comes 50mins later shouting that “you remember our agreement ne, the people for this table are coming in 5 minutes” then walks away with an attitude before I could converse him. We literally left our unfinished drinks and paid the waiter and left. PS those people still didn’t arrive in that 5mins. That’s not how you treat clients, there’s no verbal agreement bookings when it comes to restaurants, so if we wanted to we could’ve sat till sunset because the tables had no reserved signs. Teach him to communicate better with people and not like he’s doing them a favour by allowing them in the restaurant. Unless of course it’s his restaurant then I guess right of admission reserved!
Previously it was a similar situation when I was alone but a gentleman that seemed like the owner with a beard heard my case and gave me a small little corner table so I can enjoy my 2 drinks and try out some nibbles (whereas that table was reserved, I kept my promise and left in an hour because he was kind and I didn’t want to take advantage). Open communication and kindness goes a long way and your...
