The food is the only redeeming factor for me. I had a really negative experience that will stop me from going back to this branch. Such a disappointment because I really love Tashas and their food. When we arrived at the door nobody received us and we stood there for a few minutes before getting waved at by a waiter 20metres away. We walked up to him and he put menus on a table without asking us if we’d prefer inside/outside and didn’t receive any kind of greeting either. A waitress came to us and took a simple drinks order (2 soft drinks) and this took over 15 minutes to come out. I was honestly ready to go grab the 2 sodas from the bar fridge. The starter we ordered was dropped on on the opposite end of the table carelessly and no condiments were offered. We finished the starter and our drinks and weren’t checked on for a really long time. Our empty glasses and plate sat on our table for ages until we called over another waiter to order main and another round of drinks. He clearly forgot about that order because an HOUR later our other waiter came to finally check on us and we asked her if the order had been placed. No apology or explanation from the staff. We ended up waiting a total of 90 minutes for a portion of hummus and Latvian pizza. I felt very unwelcome and find that service at this level is not excusable especially since the restaurant was really not very full. Tables around us also seemed to not be getting good service and were all left full of plates and rubbish long after being vacated. The food was good and that’s about it. I hope management steps in and improves because it really is a great restaurant. I’ve never felt this negatively after...

I’m a fan of this chain in general but this branch is a disappointment for a few reasons. The food is always great however the service could have been better. Ironically the server we had was very communicative and accomodating. The bad service came from a lady I believe was a supervisor or manager of some sort. We were a party of 6 adults plus 3 toddlers. The food took over 50 minutes to get to us and everyone was hungry including the 3 toddlers. Mind you, the restaurant was practically empty with only a few other tables being occupied the same time as us. When the food finally came we proceeded to attenpt to eat hurriedly as we were hungry and the kids were restless. Thankfully, Fortune our server was attentive enough to bring the kids’ food out first.
The real issue was with the manager/ supervisor lady. This woman ( don’t know her name) chose to interrupt our meal because she saw one of our very hungry and very tired toddlers standing on the couch. She did not once utter an apology for the food taking nearly an hour but had the gall to give us dirty looks from afar the whole time we were there. When she was satisfied with her dirty looks, the only thing she could say was a poorly worded, poorly timed admonish of our children.
I’ve eaten at this branch several times but of late the food takes too long and the staff isn’t as warm. I think it’s important to take note of the negative changes in the atmosphere...
Read moreTashas - basically the modern day upper class version of Wimpy for the bourgeoisie and health concious (because healthy is trendy, and every second person with their unimpressed cat is adopting a vegan diet). The menu section titled "healthy appetite" will leave the genuinely famished most disappointed and unimpressed with the weak pun. I don't know if it's because it's regarded as unhealthy but you also cannot find a Café mocha on the menu. You're likely to find a franchise at pretty much every shopping center in the province, ironically making it even more common than Wimpy.
The food is decent but not sensational, while the prices are beyond the quality delivered. The drinks and water served at the table were poured into hot glasses, presumably straight out of the dish washer - which is, I suppose, unavoidable if the place is busy, which this establishment almost invariably is. There are only so many glasses, and if the rate of customer turnover exceeds this, it is inevitable. It is what it is. And that is 3 stars.
The one impressive aspect of Tashas is that each franchise has its own unique menu in addition to the standardised franchise menu. This features food specific to keeping with the theme of the individual restaurant typically also reflected in very tasteful decor. This particular venue has a Lebanese theme and I ordered pita with Napolitano and lamb mince. Rather tasty but oddly the pita was served in small cut squares beneath the...
