My recent dining experience at Thava Indian Restaurant was nothing short of a delightful journey through the flavors and spices of India. From the moment I entered this culinary haven, I knew I was in for an extraordinary dining adventure.
Thava's interior exudes an inviting charm with its warm, traditional Indian decor. The ambiance was a perfect blend of contemporary comfort and hints of India's rich cultural heritage, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu at Thava is a tribute to the diverse culinary landscape of India. I began my culinary voyage with a selection of delectable appetizers, including samosas and pakoras, each bursting with a medley of spices and aromas that left my taste buds dancing in delight.
For the main course, I couldn't resist the aromatic biryani, which was a fragrant masterpiece of perfectly cooked rice, tender meats, and a harmonious blend of spices. The butter chicken was equally divine, with a creamy tomato sauce that had just the right balance of heat and sweetness. Thava's naan bread, fresh from the tandoor, was the perfect accompaniment, warm and pillowy.
The service at Thava was outstanding. The staff was not only friendly and attentive but also genuinely knowledgeable about the diverse range of dishes on offer. They were happy to offer recommendations, ensuring that my dining experience was a true exploration of Indian cuisine.
Dessert at Thava was the crowning glory of my meal. I savored the decadent gulab jamun, a sweet and syrupy confection that was the perfect finale to my Indian feast.
Thava Indian Restaurant is a culinary masterpiece, celebrating the rich and diverse tapestry of Indian flavors and traditions. It is the ideal destination for those in search of a memorable Indian dining experience, whether you're a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or someone looking to embark on a culinary adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend Thava for a dining journey that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the culinary artistry of India, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to this delightful establishment to explore more of their...
Read moreWorst experience ever..wish i read the newest comments before wasting my money here Firstly i walked in the restaurant without being sanitized, my table was not santized either..get a table and was allocated a waiter named Mahendra- no introduction, luckily enough he had a name badge. It would be nice to get a warm welcome especially since they say they are a fine dining restaurant ...theres a certain level of service that is expected.Meals arrived- we ordered mutton bunnies...the meat was slimy was fatty..the curry itself was bland and tasteless...curry had no colour..it was the worst mutton bunny I've eaten in my life. We are from jhb and was on holiday and a good mutton bunny was something we really wanted to try when in Durban..After tasting it we informed our waiter and he said he will inform the manager, no manager in site ..waiter came around to clear plates and we expressed our disappointment again and he said he notified the manager...we were there a good 15 mins after and still no visit from the manager. Its sad because this place really doesnt care about customer service or maybe they dont care about new customers. This branch really needs better management that are customer service focused otherwise its going to lose alot of customers and ruin...
Read moreI have had such good experiences and food here before so decided to take a group of friends for lunch. The service WAS SHOCKING. The management was disgusting; rude, and completely non-communicative. No one explained that there was a problem with the tandoori oven, or so they said, and no one came to discuss that perhaps we should order something else. After an hour and forty minutes, after asking at least 3 to 4 times what was happening, the food eventually arrived, which certainly was not up to the standard that it has been before. Instead of apologising, and offering some sort of compensation, the manager said "we have had customers like you before...." so utterly rude and disrespectful. Our waiter, Aubrey, was the only person in the restaurant who was trying to be helpful. I have NEVER had such awful service in any restaurant before, and certainly have never been treated with such disrespect by the management. I certainly will never go back to THAVA again, and I definitely will not be recommending it to anyone else in the future. I couldn't put no stars down, because it...
