Unfortunately, our overall experience with this restaurant has been quite disappointing. 😔 When it first opened, we were impressed by the warm atmosphere and service. A kind gesture with complimentary pastries even led us to purchase a prepaid card. However, early signs like a misspelled name hinted at carelessness, which worsened over time. 😕 Beef noodles shrank from thick, generous slices to just three thin pieces. Menu items were often unavailable even at lunch, and the blackboard wasn’t updated. Staff repeatedly had to confirm with the kitchen. One winter day ❄️, after switching tables due to the cold, we were served the wrong food. We flagged it, but the staff insisted we accept it. Despite hygiene concerns ⚠️, they refused to take it back. Pressed for time, we ate it. Instead of owning the mistake, they made us cancel and repurchase the wrong dishes, charging us extra. 🚫 When we returned, we were met with hostility, not apology. 😞 Later, we found a hair baked into a loaf from their partner bakery. 🤢 This isn’t about one bad day—it’s a pattern. After careful thought, we felt it important to share this experience so others can make an informed choice. A restaurant once full of promise has fallen short in many essential ways. ❗

The Boring Cafe has become one of my favourite place for bubble tea, apart from your typical bubble tea, there were iced fruit teas with grape jelly that’s perfect when it touches your palate 😝 As a Taiwanese born, and growing up in SA, stinky tofu, deep fried blood cake and calamari balls are things of nostalgia. BUT DAMN they make it well! The tonkatsu (panko crusted pork cutlet) meal set along with its special dipping sauce was also a huge hit. Would recommend all! Brace yourself for the stinky tofu because it’s lethal but oh-so-delicious 🤤

I had the best Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup here. It was so flavorful, beef was tender and succulent. The noodles seems to be handmade and so delicious. Their calamari fried balls were also good with seasoning just like you’d get at a night market in Taiwan. Boba was also delicious with customizable ice and sugar level. Some of their food menu is written on a small whiteboard by the cashier but there are more than that. Will try the stinky tofu next time!

They’re dead empty on a Wednesday morning, yet 90% of their menu is only available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Something that is written nowhere on their page. It says they’re open, so you’d think they have the food available on their menu.

Unless you’re coming on those specific days, you’re wasting your time.

Atmosphere is nice, the restaurant is spacious, well thought out, quite cozy and well designed.

There also is space outside for parking of around 40 or so cars, and has its...
