Ocean Basket Rivonia Village — Restaurant in Gauteng

We went out to celebrate a dinner for a family birthday, well I should have stayed home and eaten mouldy bread. That would have been better. On arrival we received a few complimentary bread rolls but there weren't enough to go around and we were abruptly told they don't have enough for the table. We proceeded to order food but I should have known from the time there was a shortage of bread rolls this was going to be a disaster. We ordered fish bites for the kids which were still roar inside ( we cut them open fortunately before the toddlers tucked in). We sent them back and they were sent back still in half but probably reheated in a microwave or just dumped backed in the oil. Funny thing is we only received half a portion back. Then it got worse, the food arrived in intervals and was ice cold. By the time the last meal arrived most of the party had almost finished eating. Finally a manager arrived, well that was useless as he asked how it was going and we explained the situation to him. That was the last we saw of him, he is definitely in the wrong profession, he should consider a career as a magician. Not even an apology from anyone. Anyway we paid the FULL bill and left, for good. I shall never return to this restaurant and will most definitely be vocal about this experience to friends and colleagues and warn them not to even consider...

Food and service is on point, I once had a concern with an order placed for delivery with Ubereats however Landiwe (the store manager) handled the matter with such poise and professionalism, such that I've never experienced from any other restaurant manager when dealing with a takeout order - I was blown away. This woman knows how to respect and value customers, for this reason I will keep coming back to Ocean Basket Rivonia Village! From the moment we walked in, manager Meli and waiter Nhlanhla provided us with top-notch service. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was memorable.

The food was also outstanding. We ordered two platters for two as a take away and requested that everything be served separately. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was evident that the ingredients were of high quality and prepared with care.
