Woolworths Cafe — Restaurant in Gauteng

Food was inedible, my mom ordered fish cakes, there is nothing on the menu to indicate that they were so full of Chilli, she couldn't eat them and sent them back. The waitress Desiree should have offered her something else, but didn't, she just meekly apologized and insisted there was NO Chilli in them... eventually I asked for the menu so she could order something else that was edible .. she ordered chicken fillets which were average, she hardly ate ... I ordered the umami green salad, it was unbearably salty, I couldn't eat it and sent it back, hardly touched I wasn't offered anything else ... so my mom ate and I had nothing ... eventually I ordered a coffee ... it was average, nothing great. I could have made a better one at home with instant coffee... I had to ask Desiree 3x for a glass of water to get rid of the awful salty taste.. she stood at the counter with her friends talking and laughing .. eventually Ayavuyo came to my rescue and brought me a glass of water ... she is very sweet amd good at her job .. the bill came and I was charged for the fish cakes as well as the unbearably salty salad which I couldn't eat ... Disgusting excuse for "food", worse service and awful atmosphere! Shame on you, it's a blight on...

Unfortunately another disappointing visit. Prep staff were more focused on giggling and messing around. Almost empty cafe yet they took very long to come take our order. Finished our drinks and waited another 15+ min for 2 slices of cake that was ordered with our drinks. Something that is already made that just needs to be sliced and put on a plate. After complaining we eventually got it. Another table also complained about wait time. Waiting over 45min for 3 sandwiches. With 7 staff behind the counter standing around and joking, management also joining in on the uninterested behaviour , this was not good customer service. Definitely wont recommend or give yet...

A big thank you to the staff that took great care of us upon our visit. We called in to find out if the full menu was available after the lengthy lockdown regulations forced a reduced menu and was pleasantly encouraged to visit. We were greeted by Supervisor and Chef Zanele who spent an extra few minutes meticulously preparing our meal. Our waitress Busi and her Partner Nelly made sure we were comfortable and felt safe at all times... Before our meal arrived even Edmond the manager came to find out who called in advanced and thanked us for choosing them. We got a 5 star restaurant experience and a special praise goes to the team at this establishment and...
