27A on Angus — Hotel in Gauteng

I have been meaning to write this review since returning from SA but life happens :-)|We booked the Olive Suite, Maple suite, Orange Suite and the Champagne Room as we were a group of 7 adults and 3 children. All suites booked were fabulous and we had a very warm welcome from Mavis who made our stay so warm and enjoyable. Well equipped huge suites, all very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The beds were all so comfortable and everything was just super. The bathrooms were all well stocked with toiletries and every room had a welcome basket of treats and a bottle of wine. Very generous gestures. We felt so at home and the place has a beautiful garden and swimming pool. We felt totally safe and had no complaints at all. We had an unfortunate, unexected situation while on this vacation which meant a change in our accommodation booking and David and Mavis were so accommodating and understanding which we so appreciated. The place was so quiet and peaceful. we were actually sad to leave and we would 100% return to Angus 27a should we ever travel to Johannesburg again. Thank you David and Mavis for your warm...

Disgusting experience

Me and my girlfriend got to the lodge and apparently they didn’t have a card machine so they proceeded to requests our credit card details ( this was already suspicious), so we obviously decline and asked if we could pay cash in the morning. At midnight we received a phone call demanding we go draw the cash then and there. We both got into the car and proceeded to find an atm, just as we got to the gate they said that my girlfriend needs to stay behind, only I must go. This was outrages. We managed to both leave and draw money. Coming back they look the money and said we were short of R80, we received the price over a phone call so could not prove anything.

Do not recommend at all. Please be aware of this, I am merely telling...

Has to rate as one of the worst places I have ever had the misfortune to rent. The room was infested by cockroaches, cupboard doors chipped and in need of paint, cupboard doors don't close, a mechanical pump in Cupboard. Absolutely appalling. David wood not available to speak to and refused refund through the very pleasant Mevis on site. I visited to attend my mother's funeral for a short period and had I stayed longer would definitely reported him to the health department.||Unsafe for children in that rooms open directly onto pool with no fence. Illegal in most civilised countries...
