Mane by the Sea
Tucked away on Thesen Island, Mane by the Sea Restaurant & Bar is one of those rare discoveries that takes your breath away. From the outside, you'd never guess what awaits inside – absolutely stunning 360-degree views of the lagoon and the majestic Heads that make you want to linger for hours.
From the moment we stepped through the door for a birthday lunch celebration, we were enveloped in genuine warmth. The staff greeted us with the kind of smiles that instantly make you feel like family. Their attentiveness and positive energy set the perfect tone for our special day.
Our server, Miranda, was absolutely lovely – attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making our experience memorable. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and worth every bite. The cherry on top? A thoughtful sweet surprise for our birthday boy that made the day even more special.

Read moreExtremely Disappointing – Fried Eggs Passed Off as Poached
I ordered a breakfast that specifically came with poached eggs, but what arrived were clearly fried eggs—sunny side up. It was immediately obvious, both visually and in texture. When I raised this with the waitress, she insisted that they were poached, which was both frustrating and insulting to any basic understanding of egg preparation.
Poached eggs should have a delicate, smooth white with a soft, runny yolk—not crispy edges and a flat, fried appearance. The fact that the kitchen got it wrong is one thing, but the defensive attitude from the staff made the experience even worse.
The muffins and ham were fine, and the portion was decent, but the hollandaise sauce was thick, lukewarm, and lacked flavor. Overall, the entire dish was let down by the poor execution and lack of accountability.
I won’t be returning. If a restaurant can’t get a simple poached egg right—or admit when it’s wrong—it doesn’t inspire confidence in the rest...
Read moreDecided to give Mane a go for a Father’s Day lunch and we were thoroughly impressed! Recently opened but poised to make waves with plenty potential just waiting to be unlocked. Miranda was excellent and took care of us brilliantly! The food was amazing, the prawn and chicken curry is a must as is the Guinness beef burger. I’d be hard pressed to decide between the Panna cotta and the sundae for dessert - I’d order both. The menu isn’t extensive but each dish is curated and cooked to perfection. We were fortunate enough to meet the chef and brains behind the menu and I can see where the passion that went into the food comes from. Catch this spot on a warm evening with clear skies to catch an epic sunset...
