Horrible experience with this company. We recently stayed adjacent to the Featherbed 'Private' Nature Reserve as part of a short family vacation at a lovely cottage on the Knysna Lagoon at Brenton on Lake. Access to our cottage is along a private road taking you to one of the loveliest spots along the lagoon. As part of the family's fitness regime we would walk out onto the private road for the usual morning's hike - an hour in total. With spectacular views of the lagoon and Knysna. On our final morning I decided to take my two visiting nieces along. Up until now I've mostly walked the path alone. But on our last day, I had these two lovely 14 year olds with me. At some point along this private road, we encountered numerous 'Featherbed' private property signs (Keep Out in angry red, or face prosecution in an even darker angry red) and we assumed this relates to the private homesteads and roads turning off the main road. It turns out most of the property along this picturesque lagoon belongs to this extremely belligerent and aggressive company who sole purpose it seems are to keep people off their property. You guessed right, it transpired the private road and signs naturally belonged to them and we were not welcome. This was communicated to us by two extremely rude and crude men driving up in a golf-cart. As I have walked this same road the previous 3days and had no indication then we were trespassing, it occurred to me that this time was different. There was no kind words or explanation. Just a vituperative outburst of the crudest kind. Get the f* off our property. Can't you read. Etc. What an eyeopener. In front of two 14 year old girls, one which is black, I could not wonder if this outburst had anything to do with the fact that one of my nieces were black. Seeing that as a white male on the previous occasions I was left alone on the exact same walk. Either way, this is not the way to bully and coerce visitors to this beautiful area. The encounter left my nieces and myself traumatized, spoiling what otherwise would have been the perfect holiday. I've mentioned our encounter to numerous friends and acquaintances in the area who immediately all had a similar story to relate about the Featherbed Company's aggressive, rude and crude manners and behavior in this small Garden Route town. They apparently are known for their aggressive stance and behavior. The fact that there was no gate on this private road which we had accessed from our own property made no difference to them. The fact that there was two young girls present, made no difference. We got the distinct feeling the fact that one little girl was black, aggravated the whole situation. And what made us wonder even more, is how it is still possible in today's South Africa, that one company can still claim ownership of what should be for all South Africans. This property straddles arguably one of the country's most beautiful nature zones. An ecosystem and biome of spectacular beauty. Claimed by a brutal company set on keeping people out. What a shame. Maybe it's time someone stand up to...

Our experience at Featherbed was nothing short of incredible. We had our wedding at Featherbed on the 22nd April 2023, were greeted with warmth and professionalism from Di. The venue itself is a breathtaking blend of charm and sophistication, making it the perfect backdrop for our special day.

The attention to detail was impeccable. Our ceremony felt intimate and magical, and the reception was an absolute delight. The seamless coordination by the venue's team allowed us to enjoy every moment without a worry.

The catering was a truly great. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the exquisite dishes served, and the presentation was a work of art. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone's dietary needs were met, adding a personal touch to the experience.

If you're searching for a wedding venue that combines elegance, top-notch service, and an unforgettable atmosphere, Featherbed is the perfect choice. We are beyond grateful for the wonderful memories created at this...

Me and my wife did the tour on 16/01/2025. We booked the 11H30 trip and had a good experience with a wonderfull tour guide. Views is amazing but the food cancelled 3 days of our holiday due to food poisoning. We had to cancel other bookings because of this. We tried to contact them via the whatsupp line, message read but no response up to this monent. Featherbed Co richer vs me down R1600 just on medication. Today is the 20/01/2025 and I am still not recovered from it. These companies makes a ton of money out of tourists, and they just don't care, they made their money. I'm not saying don't do the tour just because we had a bad experience. Just be very careful with this company when you book the tour with the lunch, you don't want the same experience as we had. Our tour guide was brilliant, very informative and made the trip absolutely worth the money. Just be careful with their food...be VERY...

Their Eco Tour was so, SO worth it; starting off with a ferry trip to the Western Head (and back again afterwards), taking a 4x4 trip to our hike starting point, taking a breathtakingly scenic stroll in the Featherbed Nature Reserve and ending Father's Day off with a delicious braai buffet lunch, completed with an assortment of desserts and a gin & tonic. Collin is the friendliest tour guide with his ferry team, Big Boy and Siya. They're the absolute best! 😁👌🏻 We most definitely had an UNFORGETTABLE experience! 😍

I commend the team from featherbed Co from our tour guide, the captain along with the rest of the crew on the boat , and the waitresses at the rescue for their excellent service. Everything was top notch. The food is five star top of the range, and the views are breathtaking. The tour guide was so professional and kept cheering us up after reaching each milestone. I would definitely do this again when I am around the garden route. Knysna is beautiful 😍
