Great location, comfy rooms, and waterfront views. We stayed overnight here and had a comfortable stay with a surprising twist. While the lobby had a more casual hostel or dormitory vibe than we expected, the room itself was perfect for relaxation. The two beds were comfy and the balcony overlooking the waterfront was a real highlight, offering great views. The breakfast offered a good variety of basic items, and the espresso machine was a welcome amenity for coffee lovers like myself. The bar downstairs was basic, but the surrounding waterfront area offered a variety of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Plus, feeling safe while strolling along the waterfront at night was a big plus. Overall, Protea Hotel Knysna Quays provided a good value for a comfortable and scenic stay. The location itself is perfect for exploring the waterfront area.

This property does not meet the usual Marriott standards. While the rooms are clean and equipped with basic amenities (kettle, tea, coffee, and milk), many expected facilities are missing. There is no room service, the Wi-Fi connection is poor (especially at the end of the corridor if your room located there, in which I did) and no drinking water is provided in the rooms. The breakfast is disappointing, and calls to reception often go unanswered. If you are on an extremely tight budget, this place might suffice, but be prepared to bring your own drinking water, snacks, and to eat before returning to the hotel. I originally booked for four nights but checked out after the third due to the lack of facilities. The property has potential, but it requires better management and attention to detail.

The service was very good the room was Beautiful & the view was Awesome the only complaint I really have was I was with a frind who I have known for 40 years & on checKing out yesterday morning the lady at the reception Desk said to me Good Morning M'AM did you sleep well I was taking aback & Matthew at the reception desk looked at me in a funny way as I am a Man not a Woman & she said it in front of everyone I was so embarrassed. I am a man of 73 & to be called M'AM isn't funny. Please train your staff better in future. I carry a man's bag as I am an Epileptic & have heart problems & have to carry tablets & identification on me at all times. I don't know what Matthew 'so surname is as they only have there first name visible & I didn't get the ladies name

The positioning of this hotel is great; it’s right by the Waterfront. Parking is available at an additional charge. The reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the room required a little maintenance – silly things like the fridge door screeched on opening, and the aircon remote wasn’t working but the shower was awesome. I don’t like a combined bodywash/conditioning shampoo which was provided, but that is a personal quirk. The Wi-Fi password (which didn’t require a separate password, linked to your room, once you had logged in), was hidden on a blue slip of paper in the keycard holder, not sure why as it was on the board, right by reception! Breakfast was a disaster, the hotel was full (it was the oyster festival) and there weren’t enough tables, or when you found a table, it hadn’t had the cutlery replaced, coffee took for-ever to arrive (in a cup with no teaspoon….). The next day the hotel was a lot quieter, but service at breakfast was no better! The food, however, was standard breakfast food, enough variety to keep me happy (and I...

Competent and kind staff being at lobby, porter, breakfast, everywhere. We were immediately offered welcome biscuits and drink in our room. The bathroom was very nice, the AC seems however to have its own mind regarding the temperature you select. Very comfy beds in a probably recently renovated room. True that not all room have nice views and that there is no restaurant indoors, which is a severe drawback in winter, BUT, there are numerous contracted restaurants on the waterfront and one accepts Prokard if you have one, plus you are well informed upon checking in without having to ask. Definitely a hotel that deserves its 4 stars rating. Fast free unlimited wifi is another highlight. The common areas are in excellent shape. The breakfast is honest for the price, as for the rooms when booking as a Marriott reward cat. 1.

A flaw however : internet station computers are unfortunately not powerful enough to transfer large pieces of data, check twice that your data is where you transferred it before deleting it...

I booked for a weekend to end my honeymoon at this protea hotel. It's the first time I stayed over in one. I've always heard that the protea hotel was very luxurious and THÉ hotel to stay in. But after that weekend and the amout of money I paid. It reminded me of the cheaper City Lodge. Outdated and old

I've booked via Momentum Multiply as I got discount on a room for 2 guest. I have a printscreen that proofs my quote I got and paid for. Momentum gave me false information as it was actually just for me alone. When I got at reception I had to pay extra for my wife. When I got to the room it was two single beds with a view to the back street, and above the generator.

If I have known it was going to be like this I would've booked somewhere else.

The only nice thing I can say is thay the buffet breakfast was nice and that I got a bottle of JC Le Roux as a gift when I said it's...
