I am very disappointed with the service at McDonalds Gateway. I went in to purchase a R10 cappuccino this morning using the app. I told the lady at the counter to make it at McCafe, which they have done a few times previously. She called an African female, who I think was the manager. The lady explained that Mcafe has expensive coffee which they cant sell for R10. I told her my previous experience with the machine cappuccino, that it makes me sick. She said there's nothing she can do. I also told her that I paid R10 previously and the cappuccino was made at Mcafe. She still did not want to make it there. The cappuccino from the machine was given to me, which tasted horrible. I told her it tastes terrible. All she said was I'm sorry about that but with an attitude, like take it or leave it. The customer service here is so disappointing for a branch in the Umhlanga area.
The other problem I have experienced with the app is, the daily deals. Some of them are discounted and some don't have a price. Its an app exclusive. When you go to purchase that item, it is the same price that anyone would pay, even those without the app. It's a complete waste of time and very misleading.
Senior management / Shareholders / Owners of McDonalds, you need to step in here. I told your staff that it would be my last time coming to that branch and they cared a damn. Their expression and body language...

Queues are mixed with people who are waiting to order and people who have ordered. If you're just joining the queue, there isn't a clear idea of where to join until ypu wait a bit in the wrong one and figure it out. The person who's sanitizing is supposedly managing this but seems to get distracted easily. There are seats that are blocked off for sitting but you can stand right next to them...
Simple orders can get mixed up, so if your number is skipped then follow up. Don't take it for granted that your order is taking longer to prep because I had an ice cream order completely missed and neither the manager or the person sorting had an apology. Further to this on collection 1 drink was tipped over, and it was simply, "OH!" and then ignored.
