The design looks cool, gives off a minimalistic vibe that's clean and vibrant. Multiple stations to use so you're not held up trying to get snacks or book tickets.
I liked that there were seating areas outside of the cinemas, and there was a swing too (but you can't go all out because it's not meant to).
Movie quality and sound was pretty good. Cinema itself was good, however, the reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because: For one, our movie was scheduled for 5pm, we were allowed in and entered our cinema at that time and we were then asked to leave because it hadn't been cleaned since the last showing... That was not very professional or convenient because when we walked in there was a worker on his phone scrolling through social media... Two, the seats for Xtreme were not as comfortable as expected compared to the Cornubia branch. Three, I find it sad with the capacity of cinemas that this branch holds, as opposed to Ster Kinekor's "two-way path" to cinemas, Nu Metro has only one path with about 6 or 7 cinemas including ScreenX.
Apart from these concerns/issues this Nu Metro branch would have been matched up to it's hype, hopefully better...
Read moreI went to the Gateway branch on 04/11/2025 to check the showtimes for Predator Badlands was clearly available to book I even took photos of the screens and showtimes to confirm with my family. I returned today, 05/11/2025, only to find the system now shows “Coming Soon” with no showtimes available. A staff member told me the system was offline and to come back later. I called the call center, and they confirmed the system was being updated and showtimes would be available shortly. But minutes later, I spoke to Maki via Live Chat who bluntly told me the movie was removed permanently and will not be showing. This is completely unacceptable. Why is there zero communication between your branches, call center, and online platforms? The website is still actively promoting the movie yet customers are being misled and sent in circles. I demand clarity. Why was the movie pulled without notice? Why was I told three different things by three different channels? This is not just poor service — it’s a failure in basic operational coordination. I expect a proper explanation and resolution immediately. Read moreWent to watch Tron today in cinema 3 and was not impressed by the seats or viewing experience. I hate to say it but those partially reclining seats were extremely uncomfortable. You constantly have to force yourself back as they don’t lock in place, not to mention the squeaky sound disturbing the whole cinema (from all seats not just mine). The viewing experience was inconsistent and the side projectors weren’t aligned properly and kept blinding us from the sides. Otherwise the new cinema looks fantastic and we loved the atmosphere and vibe.
