Milky Lane Gateway — Local services in KwaZulu-Natal

I had a horrible experience at Gateway Milky lane and I would never support that particular Milky lane again. I always order alot and most of the time we always end up wasting. So this time we decided to just have plain cones. I ordered and waited. I have a four year old and she knows when we order we suppose to get those ordering stands until our order comes she attempted to take one and one of the workers there told her you must order first to take this stand. I heard her and I said we just ordered we are waiting she said okay you must go stand that side which we eventually did, our order eventually came and attempted to use the syrups. that was there which I thought we were allowed to and she said only strawberry is allowed and literally pushed the others(the entire stand) away while we were still standing there. I couldn't believe that happened yoh i have being to the most tastiest ice cream shops and experienced the best and that to me was the most disgusting thing an employee of this well known place treat a customer let alone another human being like seriously. We left it and walked away. Is this how customers are treated! And I am a regular customer. I always go to that Milky lane and order plentiful and leave wastage The manager should really consider having employees that are well mannered as they are a reflection of the business. Awful experience. My wife went to this milky Lane once before with her mum and they gave them stale, sour waffles. Today we went there to get sugar caramel cone ice creams. Firstly they did not use any sort of gloves to cover their hands. Everyone seemed to be in their own world. When we eventually got the ice cream. The caramel tasted sour and off and when we had told them that, I assumed the lady they called was the manager and she along with several other staff members went about tasting it and saying nothing was wrong with it. So it's either we don't know taste or they don't. Quite sure it's the latter. We buy from different Milky lanes all the time and we will never be returning to this one again. Nice open area, but sometimes difficult to find seating. Lockdown seems to have taken its toll here. I do suggest you check if they have what you are looking for before going as not all items will be available here at all times. The do a good job picking up the phone. The order line itself doesn't seem too busy most of the time. I do love savoury waffles, I haven't had one for months due to supply issues. Maybe they have resolved it now. Ultimately, prices are slightly expensive and it may be a not so healthy, not sure how natural their ingredients are but they don't taste like it is. But you will be full and...
