I've been a customer of Sis Ivy since she began back in Obz near the Obz station, Her African food has not changed one bit, Always has been on point, with an African touch. I always make sure I go visit them once a month to get my hands on the Beef stew and Qush (Samp and Beans) or uLusu with Qush, those are my go to meals, always come out full and smiling 😊 I've given them 4 stars because there's always room for improvement, added ontop of when you sitting down to eat, you get a candle to ward off the Flies that come bother your plate, which is a great touch, The Decor also has been improved, at the Obs Resturant, really looking like an African Kitchen and Sounds played are strictly SA artists, Highly recommend a visit to this Kitchen, You will never regret it and bring a...

I have ordered from Ivy’s for a while now and the food is always proper except for 1 thing. Their Beef Stew. Not only is it tough to chew on, it’s either I’m given 3 bones with fat and just one small piece of meat or 2 pieces with overflowing gravy. But today, they shocked me. Just bones with fat. For the fact the prices went up for beef stew, I’m expecting that their meat be proper. I am currently eating and I am not enjoying my meal because of the meat. Meat is supposed to be the star of the show, and in this case, I am truly not happy. For the fact that I’ve mentioned this 3 times to one of the staff members, but nothing seems to...

I'm sad to say my experience there yesterday was not great. We arrived.. there was a lady in the front taking pics for heritage day and no one else. No acknowledgment of a customer entering the door - she did not even call someone to attend to us from the back we sat there for a while waiting to be served. We therefore decided we will just grab food for take away. The guy who eventually came to serve us had dirt under his nails. I saw this while he explained the menu to us. I looked forward to supporting a small business but unfortunately it was not pleasant, and I really hope yesterday was...

I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Ivy’s Kitchen with my wife. She ordered chicken curry with pap and I had sheep tripe with rice. We also ordered a side of chakalaka. All the food was delicious and priced reasonably. The decor was lovely and the service good. The only downside was that we were the only customers dining in the restaurant. Besides us, there was a steady stream of motorcycle drivers picking up food deliveries. This detracted from the mood for me.
