My friends and I recently ventured into Trenchtown for the first time, enticed by the allure of their Monday Bottomless pizza and drinks special priced at a mere R100. Uncertain of what awaited us, we embraced the spontaneity, keeping in mind the crucial detail that reservations were not an option, and an early arrival was essential.
Upon arrival, the anticipation grew as we joined the queue to pay our R100 entrance fee, a small price to pay for what turned out to be a delightful evening.
While not gourmet pizzas, they were more than satisfying considering the unbeatable bottomless price.
A unique aspect of Trenchtown's Bottomless Monday is the self-service bar. As we navigated our way to the bar, we discovered an array of house brands to choose from. The singles-only rule may seem limiting, but the selection is diverse enough to cater to various preferences. I, a devoted brandy and coke enthusiast, found myself drinking vodka and sprite as I didn;t like the aftertaste of the house bandy.
Approaching Trenchtown from the outside may require a bit of open-mindedness, but once inside, it feels like a transient escape to a beach bar in Bali or Thailand. The ambiance is vibrant, and the overall experience is reminiscent of a laid-back beach bar.
The interior of Trenchtown exudes cleanliness and orderliness, a surprising contrast to the casual, open-minded atmosphere that greets you as you step inside. It's apparent that the establishment caters mainly to UCT students, with menu prices that are incredibly reasonable for the quality offered.
In conclusion, our evening at Trenchtown left us pleasantly surprised and thoroughly satisfied. The Bottomless Monday special is a fantastic deal, and despite the unconventional approach to service, the atmosphere, and affordability make it a worthwhile experience. We look forward to returning, embracing the unique charm that Trenchtown brings to the...
Read moreYesterday around 11h00, while busy serving one of my clients at my shop, boom 🤯 one of the guys over the street came to ask who parked the car 🚗 over the street. I answered him very nicely that car is for my client and that I’m almost done with him. Less 5 minutes, another guy (opposite the street as well) comes out furious for no reason, shouting at my client stating he must remove his car otherwise he will scratch it. I politely asked him why is he disrupting my business and threatening my client, bearing in mind that the car was parked in a pavement. His words were: “shut up, or else I beat you up”. I further asked him to stop talking to me and my client anyhow because the parking belongs to the city of Cape Town. He then left swearing at us🤬.
This incident is completely unacceptable, and I would like to advise people of Trenchtown that my business is servicing a lot of highly profile clients. Thus, please be mindful when interacting with my clients (as your unacceptable behaviour might not end well).
I am highly disappointed with what transpired yesterday and hope that this doesn’t...
Read moremy boyfriend and I really enjoy the place and the vibe. But recently the service has been TERRIBLE. The waiters literally refused to serve us because apparently “We don’t tip” coincidentally later that night my boyfriends card and R100 was stolen from his wallet.
We went there last week and his Nike jacket and cap were also stolen.
We were also harassed by one waiter who kept watching our table as they said we were smoking weed which we were not.
There were people on the table next to us with a bong who smoked and left without problems. But when my friend took out his new pipe to show us the waiter quickly came to our table to say stop smoking. Which we were not.
While saying this to us there were another set of people opposite us rolling and about to smoke - who smoked in peace and were not harassed by the waiter with...
