Bad Batch? Not sure if i will support again.

I usually order a take away pasta at least once a month and have eaten here with family a few times. The food is usually VERY tasty. Tonight i decided to let my grandmother try. To say the least it left a very bitter feeling towards this cozy little place. We ordered two Spagetti Alla Carbonaras for take away. We were so excited to get home and dig in as we were talking about this since morning, but we were so dissappointed. We took a few bites and now it sits in the fridge only to be thrown out later. It tasted like something was burned. I smelled it once i opened, but didn't think much about it until i took my first bite. It can't be the bacon, because i have never had this taste before even though i had the same dish before before. Panchetta? There was no creaminess to the pasta, no sauce.. Too much salt for our liking and the spagetti itself was well undercoooked. The after taste felt like i stuffed a tablespoon of flour in my mouth. We are not ones to usually complain, but for R105 a portion we expect to enjoy our meal, as this is a HUGE treat for us.

The service is wonderful and friendly as always.

I do hope this same dish was not served to any other...

The pizza was amazing! The milkshake were nice. BUT THE SERVICE WAS HORRIFIC. We were given the bill 3 times without asking (which made us feel unwanted) eventhough we were literally the only customers in the restaurant at the time. After the 2nd bill was paid and we ordered drinks again we were told to pack up because the table would be reserved in 15minutes (where on earth do you do that.. at least tell the customer to move to another table if that table is reserved) We also had to ask a few times for a fan or aircon because it was so hot and not once was it tunrned on.. And the bathroom (both of them)was full of tiny fruit flies

As we walked out i wanted to have a light discussion with the manager just so he is aware of the service.. When i spoke to him his only reply was "well you guys were here for quite a while" Coming from this kind of industry i know it is utter nonsense. In what world is it a bad thing to have a customer stay for a few hours (especial since we weren't just drinking water.. we had 2pizzas 2milkshakes and 6cokes) AND WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMER IN THE WHOLE RESTAURANT

We've been regulars here since the 1st review, and had good meals and average ones. Last nights was dreadful. Yes, they were really busy and service was slow and terrible. We waited well over an hour for 2 pizzas which when they did come, were barely cooked. The dough was raw for the most part. Topping were plentiful and tasty so that made up a bit. The only efficient bit of service happened when we popped out for a smoke when waiting for our meal. Our very pricey Aussie Shiraz was whipped off our table, unused condiments and all. Table cleared and reset... 🤔 We did manage to get our wine back which was stashed behind the managers stand for someones after work drink... 😂 Not a chance! What used to be reasonable priced is now bloody expensive. Everything on the menu has gone up, but I s'pose everyone has put up prices everywhere... Not...
