We are home for a vacation from overseas. We have been craving Spur, so excitedly nipped into Spur at Laguna Mall. We decided however not to risk eating there. We were given a menu which we suspect someone spilled a milkshake on. We mentioned it to the waiter, however she never replaced it. We were left sharing 1 menu. She eventually brought the place mats and left again. During her 10 second stop at the table my friend ordered a drink. We then sat waiting for 10 minutes. During that time, twiddling our thumbs, we noticed how filthy the place mats were, and how sticky the table was. Someone before us sneezed on the table. We decided it may be a healthier choice to leave the restaurant and sanitize ourselves. Not a good first impression. Just want to mention that the shop wasn't busy at all. About 4 tables were seated and staff were lounging around. When we told the waiter why we were leaving, she just looked at us and said ok. Another staff member asked what was going on, we explained, and he just stared at us. Not that I wanted them to beg us to stay, but not even an attempt at an apology or even a look of surprise. Their reaction spoke 1000 words. It must...
Read moreHorrible experience at this Spur Saturday 21 June. If I could give a 0 rating I would. The food was tasteless. It was a schnitzel and crumbed mushrooms with oddly thick crumbs and tasted like nothing. The chips and onion rings were cold. When we returned the schnitzel, the chips and onion rings were simply thrown back into the deep fryer. It came back so dry. I also returned the mushrooms and had ribs and wings instead, which were just as tasteless. We ended up leaving most of the food. The service was also almost non existent. The children’s orders weren’t put through at first, we had to follow up with the waitress who simply said she never heard the order. We also had to ask for cutlery numerous times. This was overall a really disappointing experience. I don’t know what has gone wrong with this Spur! If you’re looking for a nice meal with the family, rather visit one of the beach restaurants...
Read moreVisited the Spur tonight hoping to end off an awesome West coast break. What a shocking experience, in the throngs of a Pandemic which has our country on its knees. Phillip an operator, was observed with his mask dropped to his neck, in the food prep area. He then proceeded to yawn without covering his mouth, still standing in the prep area with take away orders, waiting to be boxed. As a patron waiting for my food this unsettled me, as I am expected to adhere to Covid-related protocols, upon entry.
When I voiced my dismay to the manager, who then adressed Phillip, he, Phillip, arrogantly told the manager within full view and earshot of myself, I must go fly a kite. I pity the folks who had for their supper tonight the food thay Phillip yawned over.
Arrogance just as ignorance has no place in a pandemic that has cost our...
