Since the new owner has taken over, service is poor as well as the quality of the food. My family and I would often go to this restaurant because the service was amazing as well as the quality of the food. However, it is no longer like this with the new owner. On a quiet day with 3 tables, we waited 45 minutes for the food. I complained and the owner didn't deal with it in a professional manner. In fact she just rollled her eyes and walked away. When we left the restaurant, she was making hand gestures towards us as well. Very unprofessional. We will no longer be supporting this business. We will go where we are valued as customers. And this is not my first experience like this since the new owner has taken over. The last time we waited over an hour for our food. The Daily offers good service and the food is of a high quality. However, this review is just to advise customers regarding gift vouchers. My daughter purchased a R500 voucher for my wife and me which we used for a breakfast, expecting the balance to be kept in credit on the voucher. We were informed the voucher is for once-off use only and no refund or credit will be given. To expect R295 (cost of the breakfast) to be used on the voucher and the balance of R205 to be forfeited is not acceptable and the owner suggested we should have brought a friend to make up the R500. After some debate with the owner, we were given another voucher for the balance not used. The voucher did state it cannot be redeemed for cash and no change will be given, but there was no reference to it being a once-only use and the balance will be forfeited. This wonderful coffee shop has a very calm feel to it and has some very simple but tasty meals to eat apart from the amazing coffee they serve. Service : 5/5 very good the manager checked up on us 3 times Food : 4/5 needs a hint more flavour but I'm being biased based on my taste buds Atmosphere : 5/5 one of the most calm coffee shops I have ever been in.
