We drove for an hour to go have a nice lunch for Father's day just to be deeply disappointed. We paid R300 per person but the food was so bad no real variety it is supposed to be a seafood restaurant but there was such a small variety of seafood only mussels and fish. The angel fish is awful dry and dull also the snoek. They have big pots with little food in and their afval was terrible, seems it was cooked and they just added turmeric to give it color. I can't even explain the disgust I feel towards this restaurant. We did not even for those extra 2 hours they say you can relax if fact almost everyone left as there was only ice cream and koeksisters no thank you where is the trifle, waffles, salads no man the only salads was a green salad with normal white onions lettuce and tomatoes I could've made that better at home this was not worthed. I would never ever go there again what a waist of a R1600 for me and my family. The food was not appealing. I would rather prefer quarter deck or schoongeszict but never ever Boesmanland Plaaskombuis. Not worth the drive my petrol or my money. And I would definitely not recommend anyone to go there ever I am so dissatisfied. Opposite us sat a family with a 5 year old daughter and we even heard her saying to her mom and dad the food are tasteless. The waiter who ask if we want drinks are clueless and my 12 year old boy ask me! can't this waiter read. This is a place for people who knows no food. The vis potjie is the worst also the vegetables have no taste. Everybody fancy about their bread. I don't wanna eat bread we pay for food and its supposed to be good food. The people who dish food they want to give you 1 piece of chicken and small portions and I am actually glad it was only 1 because the chicken wasn't nice tasteless. They say black garlic mussels in a garlic creamy sauce. Oh gosh it is more mussels in water with no taste. Common they can do better than that. Awful place you must sit on logs with tables that are very low. Ha ah not a place for people...
Read moreBased on the reviews, I decided to take a foreign guest to experience an authenic South African meal on 26 July 2023.
There was a lot of food but the food was mediocre and low quality. The best part of the meal was the fresh baked bread with the fig jam. The cost of R260 per person was to expensive for bread, jam and what tasted like reheated leftover food.
I expected fresh braaied snoek straight from the coals, but it seemed that the snoek was steamed or reheated left overs, the green beans and the tripe stew were tasteless.
It was a cold day, but the waiter said that they only had cold milk for coffee and tea on the menu.
The koeksisters were old, I asked where the syrup was on the koeksisters and was told that the syrup was on the inside of the koeksister. After biting into the doughy, dry koeksister, I could not eat it. The milktart was only served cold and had a thick underbaked crust. I ate the top part of the milk tart, the base was not edible.
I was disappointed and embarrassed to have my guest eating at the buffet today.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, but due to the low quality food l will not be back...
Read moreI was so disappointed with the small variety of food and to top it of the bad selection of desert that I did not even find appealing to stay for. The menu is definitely not worth the money I paid I have been to quarter deck and schoongezicht and I must say they were much better. Was not worth the long drive nor my money spend. I would not recommend them to anyone I know. My wife was so disappointed as i was taking her on a Sunday lunch date she is usually crazy for desert but was not interested in their desert as it was only ice cream and koeksisters no real variety. The main purpose of a buffet is the variety of food but that food my wife can make at home for less money and it would also taste much better and the green salad yoh what was that no man do better don't waste people's money like that I will never ever set foot at this restaurant again. The experience for me altogether was the worst restaurant I have...
