Dear Mykonos Casino. I badly want to give you a 4 star, but I can't, and I don't want to give you a 3 star, but I have to. I am sure comparing you to the full size casinos of Jhb, PTA and CPT is a strict standard, but at the end of the day you are a casino just like them. The casino facilities are modern and clean, albeit much smaller than other wll known casinos. The set up having multiple disconnected rooms, is also something to get used too as opposed to other Casinos with a main floor leading to other rooms. The experience is hindered by a highly impractical way of ordering drinks from the machines (with no confirmation or feedback once a waitress has been called). You press this "order drink" button and just sit and wait hoping someone shows up. Why not have at least one waitress walking around asking "would you like a drink". The restaurant is also terrible, in the sense that even on a quiet night, we had to wait 50 minutes for a pizza, which is shocking to say the least. The drinks options and beer availability is poor too, as Cape Town has multiple renowned craft breweries, but all you keep is the generic liquor store variety. Lastly, the smoke from the smoking area seeps into the main room, and thus it smells rather unpleasant near that half of the room. Despite all regulations.you may be required to follow, I also feel uneasy playing blackjack etc, with a machine that I can not personally see shuffling the cards. I feel like the Mykonos team should visit the big names such as Monte Casino, Time Square etc and perhaps look at providing a more fluid and professional experience. Better than nothing, but...
Β Β Β Read moreUnder 18's not allowed to dine at the black sheep restaurant, so much for a family weekend away as our kid could not enter the premises. Long queues at the casino entrance, due to only 2 machines servicing the covid 19 health checks and then a further queue to get a tsogo sun casino card to play in the casino, even though I have a Suncoast casino tsogosun casino card. What a bad system, that the tsogosun group doesn't link the cards, like how sun international casino cards can be used at any sun international facility. Not much social distancing at the queues as people were filling in the forms, then rejoining the queues. Queues to the enquiry section for new cards, were blocking the entrance to the casino. If you living close to the beach complexes, you have to walk around or drive to the main casino entrance as the back entrance to the casino from the pool side is closed. No social distancing in the kiddies games section, only able to sanitize at the entrance and the games are being used by many people, so would be advisable to bring your own sanitizer. If you want to go to the bank from the games section, you have to stand in the long queues again, to go through the covid protocols health forms online, just to go to the bank, which is just around from the...
Β Β Β Read moreI find Mykonos Casino boring. The machines have stagnated and are slow tp pay out, although they did promise new, exciting ones soon. I realise it is a small casino, but it is widely supported by us locals, revamping needs to keep up, to keep us interested. Not the first time I have reviewed the Casino publicly, so therefor no winnings for me!! Lol... I am always catching the 'slow' time.!!
The car wash must move..... taking up client's parking, especially when they are closed. Long distance to walk after dark.
The ala'carte restaurant division does not justify their lunch money. Bent, poor quality cutlery, service too laid back, food not done professionally nor displayed well. It just has a tired feel about the place. I was impressed that a little bit of attention was given to the small garden outside on the walk way, despite the dry conditions. Mykonos draws busses from town, spending money does not always last long, why can't there be more seating with shade for your clients, in front of the Casino. The wind does not always blow. If not here, why not get a festive vibe going somewhere, where clients can wait. The...
