From the moment I arrived at Windtown, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Check-in was seamless and gave me such clarity about my new environment that I never once felt unsure or doubtful during my stay. Instead, I immediately felt safe, at ease, and at home. When I entered my room, I was delighted to discover a series of thoughtful touches: complimentary hot chocolate sachets placed on the bed, milk in the mini-fridge, bottled water, and a jar of ginger cookies waiting on the table beside the kettle. Even a hot water bottle had been thoughtfully laid out for later when the evening chill set in. These gestures, though simple in effort, carried such generosity and intentionality—they made me feel not just accommodated, but truly cared for. The sauna experience was divine, and I appreciated the refreshing bottle of water provided afterward. Throughout the hotel, the cleanliness was exceptional, with meticulous attention to detail. In the restaurant, the carefully chosen furniture, layout, and atmosphere reflected the Windtown family’s sensitivity to the guest experience, creating a setting that was both elegant and deeply relaxing. My mother joined me for dinner and is usually VERY uncomfortable at restaurants, but for the first time in her life, she felt relaxed and comfortable. The highlight of my stay, however, was the hospitality itself. Every single member of the team was warm, approachable, and authentically generous in their care. It wasn’t just service; it was connection. I noted everyone I interacted with in order to express my gratitude and highlight their names for making my stay feel warm, caring, safe, and elevated through their demonstration of genuine hospitality. This made my visit truly unforgettable. Please forgive any spelling errors, and Tuli, Chanel, Priscilla, and Rita—I apologize for not knowing your exact roles at Windtown, as I didn’t want to assume. Great onsite restaurant sit-down or in room breakfast options included in daily rate. The Onsite restaurant has really good food and service and also open for lunch and dinner. Also has liquor license. Pool area is great for relaxing, kids enjoyed the pool, although water was quite cold. They had one built-in braai area near pool that guests could use.
Onsite undercover parking was available. DStv (broken when we were there but was in process of being fixed) and WiFi available. Also has a kettle and little bar fridge to keep stuff cold in (no microwave though).
It's on the main road within walking distance leading to the lagoon area along a strip with little boutique shops, pubs and restaurants.
Hotel went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and happy. Only negative is the wind which blows a lot, but that's not within the control...
