We visited Queens Cottage for the first time, they came highly recommended by many of our friends. We visit a lot of restaurants and in the beginning of our evening we were gushing about the food, the service was great and it would've been our new favorite restaurant in Langebaan. To our utter disgust our evening ended of with a terrible after taste.
Our server, Princess was totally humiliated at the bar area for pouring too much alcohol in our shot glasses and that she would end up paying for it and if she knows how much money she is costing him.(This might have been the owner or manager)
No discreet addressing of her wrong doing, a continuous shouting and making this poor woman so small and unbroken lambasting clearly to the visible patron.
We took our American friend for dinner before he leaves SA to return home and this just left all of us totally disgusted.
Sadly we won't return to this restaurant that has so much potential. I would recommend that if you have issues with your staff, please address it privately and I would also recommend that you check yourself in the manner you speak to people.
We left the restaurant with an aching heart, unfortunately the way you treat people out ways even the best of food.

I had the most delicious tender and expertly prepared beef fillet steak (that seemed a lot larger than the 200g I ordered!), served with roasted green beans with a red wine jus and divine tallow potatoes (slightly squashed baby potatoes deep fried in tallow (animal fat)). I could cut the steak using only the steak knife's weight. The medium-rare request was evident when I flayed open the fillet, perfect. My side of fire-roasted vegetables (butternut, green beans, beetroot, peppers) was al dente, just the way I like it.
My partner ordered the "Cowboy Steak" - sirloin topped with a curry bean sauce, sliced pork belly, and three cheeses fire-oven grilled on top. Rich and tasty! The Marrow Mash she ordered lived up to childhood memories of enjoying marrow fresh off the fire.
We shared a slice of pecan pie for dessert - with way more nuts than anything else, with just enough filling to hold it all together, this was a delicious end to our meal.

We had the coolest waitress and waitor tending to our every need. We opted for the Porkbelly and marrow bone starters which was mind blowingly beautiful and tasty! For mains we had the beef rib and sirloin, what a treat. Everything melts in your mouth and has a taste explosion a foodie can only dream of! The entire menu sounds like something from a magical land of food and every single dish is explained and sides are suggested which fit with them perfectly.
