Jacks Bagels Dorp Street — Restaurant in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

Popped in for breakfast at Jack’s Bagels and, unfortunately, it was a pretty underwhelming experience. The food was average at best — I had the salmon bagel, which lacked flavour and left me a bit disappointed.

The space itself could really use some TLC. Tables are old and wobbly, and the bathrooms were grubby, which doesn’t create the best impression. The staff were okay — not rude, but not particularly welcoming either.

I was quite disappointed, I normally love jacks bagels and would always order the bar-one bagel, but when i did this time it was very underwhelming to say the least, firstly they increased the price which is okay if it was just that. But they also decreased the quality of it. Previous times the bagel was covered in chocolate sauce but this time it was bare minimum, had no sauce on top, and there was barely any bar-one sauce inside it too. I had the salmon bagel. They added a generous amount of salmon. It looked just like the pics in the menu. I think I may of found the best hashbrown in Town as well. I ordered it on the side because life needs more potatoes. It was perfectly done. Light and crispy. Golden brown on the outside with a warm soft centre.
