We popped in for brunch. The decor has been well thought out and the furniture is comfy enough and suits the decor. Service was extremely efficient and friendly from all the staff that looked after us. We had a coffee, cappuccino and a peanut butter smoothie- all great. Proper thick cups to keep our hot drinks hot for a long time. We had avo on sour dough. A full breakfast (can’t recall the name) and I asked for a croissant with two poached eggs- not on the menu but no problem. Those poached eggs were cooked to perfection with bright orange yolks- really properly done. The smashed avo was full of flavour and not watery. Croissant, light and fluffy. Seriously attentive eye on proper cooking techniques using great products- I would go back just for the eggs!! Only one pic, but it explains a lot. Edit: I tried my skill at removing people on the second photo so you can see the decor and layout. You need to visit this place!

4 Apr 2023. Even though my first visit was really good, good enough to visit a second time… alas, the second time around was very deflating. I got the Peanut butter smoothie. Simply put, it was horrible. Admittedly, PB is not my favorite flavor, but even so, there was no redeeming quality about that smoothie. It was so thick it was like drinking peanut butter from the jar itself. It also seemed to have bits of peanut shells in it. That was strange. Worse than that, I got it under the recommendation of the waiter and when I was dissatisfied with the quality and taste of the smoothie, I was billed for it anyway. The cheesecake slice I got was also not as good as the first time I visited. I couldn’t finish it and cheesecake is my favourite kind of pastry. Period. It was dry and the parts closer to the crust don’t seem to have been mixed well before baking. It was crumbly and dry (I don’t mean the biscuit part). Anyway, sufficed it to say, all in all not great. Atleast, not as good as my first visit. I, personally, will not be returning. ————————————————————— Absolutely AMAZEBALLS!!! Oh my! I had the lime and white chocolate cheesecake and both things were just great. I am muslim, so halaal restrictions and all, so I asked if they use animal gelatine in their cheesecakes and, they don't, so that was lovely. The place is NOT HALAL for the meal offerings, but they do have vegetarian and vegan offerings. My colleague and I sat outside in the garden and the atmosphere was inviting. It has a nautical theme with white and blue striped decor and such. The views of the mountain and the real estate on the mountain was really cute. I had a berry smoothie that tasted great. I decided to take the cheesecake to-go and it kept impressively well for about 5 hours not-in-the-fridge. Sufficed it to say, I will be back the next time I have a hankering for a decadent treat. Lovely!

I ordered my chocolate ganache birthday cake from Dalebrook cafe at 10am last Friday morning for pick-up on Saturday at 10am (24 hours notice as requested). The order was confirmed and the staff called me back later on Friday to confirm once again. I was running a few minutes late on Saturday morning so I called to let the staff know I would be picking the cake up at 10.30 - they confirmed this is no problem and the cake would be waiting for me. I arrived at 10.30 for pick up. The server at the till had a cheesecake waiting for me. I said I am picking up a chocolate ganache cake. It was not ready for me and they reused the same, very dirty box to put the chocolate cake in that previously held the cheesecake. When I queried the dirty box, they claimed they did not have another box to give me. The server also broke the cake putting it into the box. I am extremely disappointed with the level of service as the cake is very expensive. I can't really believe they didn't have any spare boxes. This is very unhygienic, especially in a pandemic situation. Added to this, while the manager was apologetic and eventually said I didn't need to pay for the box, the whole experience was so disappointing that I won't be frequenting Dalebrook again.

Love “Dalebrook” Cafe, we visit dalebrook tidal on a regular basis and normally get a coffee sometimes breakfast after. But, this time was super disappointing. We were in a rush and could not sit down, asked for a simple croissant with scramble and bacon for takeaway……first of all paying R130 for one is absolutely ridiculous. Second, wrapped in an abundance of unappealing foil Third: sweaty, oily, too crispy bacon, and dry egg. So sad. Really dissatisfied with it. Consider getting easy to grab and go breakfasts - wrap/croissants/bagels. Sonnekus would have been a better choice I guess. Breakfast and coffee for R60. Great quality and atmosphere.

Popped in for cuppucino. Thoroughly loved it here. It's in a quieter spot. Loved the decor. Super friendly waitresses. Great cuppucino and chocolate cake. Will have to go back to try breakfast - the menu is rather interesting. Loved the story about how the Cafe came about, printed at the back of the drinks menu. We watched the train go by and just relaxed Updated: we returned for breakfast. Hubby had the kippers on corn fritter. I had toast, poached egg, bacon and pork sausage. We sat in the open courtyard. Popular venue due cyclist as there is a small passage to park bikes.
