An out of town guest had asked if it was any good going to Cubana, I stated for vibes yes but service naah
My friend and I recently visited the establishment, eager to experience the newly renovated atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the refreshed décor and vibrant ambiance. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm was short-lived due to the subpar service we received.
Our server, although bubbly and attentive to other guests, was surprisingly rude and dismissive towards us. We had ordered our drinks , As soon as my friend had a sip of her drink ( Ice Tropez) we said it tasted offlish/ weird, we immediately informed our waitress and she just said “ Futhiii” and walked away, we were left which so much confusion like did someone bring concern on this also or what. My friend just decided she will have another drink, being polite I continue to have mine as I’ve paid for it and wasn’t seeing any measures being taken. When it was time to order my second round of drinks I politely expressed concern that my Ice Tropez drink tasted off, her response was not only unhelpful but also perplexing. Her suggestion that I order something “ I’m more familiar with “ I was taken back. What did she mean by that? Since the establishment had been closed for renovations, it was my first time visiting, and she had no way of knowing my drink preferences. Her comment left me wondering what she was implying - did she think I was somehow out of my depth ordering just an Ice Tropez drink? The suggestion was not only unhelpful but also puzzling, and it added to my growing frustration with the service.
What struck us as particularly troubling was the server's apparent lack of training in handling customer complaints. Instead of escalating the issue to a manager or attempting to resolve the problem, she chose to become defensive and dismissive. Definitely some need of improvement. This occurred on the 5th of January. Around the hours of 11pm. Dark...
Read moreFirst time in Florida road and We visited Cubana Durban and really enjoyed the overall vibe—it’s lively, energetic, and a great place to unwind. The place was quite busy when we arrived, so we had to wait at the bar before being seated, but once we got our table, the service was consistently excellent.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and patient with us even as we got a bit restless waiting to eat. What really stood out was how hands-on the manager was—checking in a few times to make sure we were okay and enjoying our meal. We really appreciated that.
We were honest about our calamari being overly fried and mentioned that we don’t like sauces (especially spicy ones), but unfortunately, the dish came with spicy sauce that my sister couldn’t eat. It would be great if they were a bit more mindful of special requests like that.
On the bright side, we were treated to complimentary chicken strips and they were absolutely delicious. Definitely a must-try.
Despite the crowd, we were served by at least four different team members, all working together to ensure we were happy. Some even cleared plates and glasses while passing by, keeping the table neat and tidy without us needing to ask.
Overall, we had a lovely time and truly appreciated the service and energy of the place. Just a few tweaks on the kitchen side, and it would’ve been perfect. We’d happily go back when we are back...
Read moreThis was a rather unfortunate incident for us to have encountered.. with a waitress who was blatantly rude with a smile.. (that takes skill sissy..) We walked passed the restaurant and the bouncer at the main entrance made an attempt and caught our attention and he politely suggested that we try out the place.. So did, but as we walked in.. a waitress approached us and.. she was rather irritated that it was a only two people. She stated that unfortunately there isn't a table available for two people.. yet, in plain sight.. we could see, tables available. So, question.. was she biased bcz we didn't have a party of 5 or more? Or perhaps was she holding tables.. bcz clearly there wasn't any rsvp's.. and she was quick to usher us too the door, much to our confusion and that of the...
