Florida Palms Spur — Restaurant in Windermere

The set up inside is attractive, with tables being spread apart to adhere to covid conditions and regulations. Meals seem to served in slightly larger portions than usually and a quiet atmosphere. Food flavor was okay-ish ... Gateway branch is still ahead.

This was a birthday visit and mentioned and we expected the usual delivery from spur but nothing, not even an explanation. We racked that up to not wanting too many waiters in one area singing and passing the bug.

We usually wait for a table, where the play area is clearly visible, as this Spur fully met the reason. We acknowledge that our kids are our responsibility and, supervision needs to be controlled by parents as SPUR generally has a sign for this. The play area attendant is just in place to ensure the general well being of kids and to raise the alarm if anything serious occurs. On this visit the play attendant remain in 1 place, on her phone throughout our visit. Whilst I kept popping in and out to check on and reprimand my kid, even the child got tired of waiting for this attendant and got off the VR Chair to select VR games by himself cos the attendant was busy on her phone. I did tell my child not to touch the system, however the attendant didn't seem to even care. If I dont show any concern, the attendant doesnt care about her own companies equipment and allows all these kids (who dont understand the effects of interference and damage of expensive equipment), who's responsible? The games on the VR, are the conducive to all age groups? There isnt any real control.

The overall visit was ok but not somewhere we would look to...

I have to laugh when reading the fake replies from the owner to bad reviews. Lol. He makes it look as if he genuinely does care about a customers experience.......( not! )

All my feedback to him relating incidents of beggars entering the deck from the street harrassing customers landed on deaf ears - this franchisee doesn't have the capability to deal with security related matters, it became evident to me that he is legally protected against being held responsible for theft from customers by opportunists who have carte blanche to enter the deck because there's no security provided, even the management and waiters don't have much presence outside on the deck. He made it clear that a) He's not interested in providing security to customers and b) He's not legally responsible if a customer is attacked and/or robbed of their cell phones while on his deck despite havin warned him that it's a regular occurrence.

Pity as Florida rd spur is a nice venue esp with s deck ... it's a shame it's not owned by someone who can run a franchise properly and who would place his customers...

The place was neat and tidy. However, our waiter was friendly! My family and I decided to have dinner at Spur Florida road to celebrate my uncle's birthday. When the food arrived,the calamari was deep fried and HARD!!!As if they forgot about it in the deep fryer. My son ordered the ice cream tray and the astro's were old and soft! DEFINITELY NOT FRESH!!!My son was playing at the play area, and the attendant was not paying attention or monitoring the kids at all. She was not friendly at all. She was chatting on her phone for the 60minutes we spent there. We sat close to the play area, by the VR section. WE WERE REALLY DISSAPOINTED! THE BIRTHDAY BOY DID NOT ENJOY HIS FOOD. We paid the bill and went to another restaurant, because we didn't want to ruin his night further with complaints...
