What is a Jeju trip without trying the infamous meat from a black pig raised in the island? This restaurant has good reviews and was close by our hotel so we had our dinner here. It's a small joint with about 10 seats. The servers were friendly and service was quick. Another table was occupied by foreigners and they looked like they were having a great time.
We ordered a serving of the black pork which costs 55,000won for 2 people (about $42). That's not bad considering the serving was hige and the side dishes are all refillable upon request.
The servers helped us cooking the pork and I enjoyed dipping it in different sauces as well as making different kinds of wrap. Of course, we have to pair it with the Hallasan soju! 😉
What is special about Jeju pork? It did not taste as greasy as regular pork I had before. If you see the pork we got had a thick layer of fat but none of that made lips and mouth feel oily (even without taking a shot of soju).
I highly recommend trying Jeju black pork and checking out this restaurant -...

There are too many black pork barbeque out there and we picked this black pork bbq that was near to our apartment stay. We took a short 10 minute walk under the beautiful night sky filled with stars.
It wasn't a huge restaurant but it was definitely packed with diners inside. We took a seat of 06 pax and the service crew recommended us for 2 sets of black pork set for 03 to begin with
It was a breeze when placing the orders as the service crew mostly conversed in mandarin. She proceeded to serve the food and side dishes and explained to us all the different parts of the pork.
The black pork came unmarinated and in parts of the leg, neck and belly. There were 2 different types of sauces that were made from fish to go with the pork.
Overall a 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the quality of the black pork, the side dishes and...
Read moreChanced upon this eatery on our first night here since our hotel was close by. It was one of the few joints which was still open at 9pm. The black pork were so good that we came back a second time. For someone who doesn’t fancy fatty meat, the grilled meat were juicy yet not greasy. 2 of the waitresses speak Chinese so communication was a breeze. The lady boss also gave us a free serving of steamed egg on our second visit. Price was reasonable too, at 88k KRW for 800g of meat which is fit for 4 pax. We enjoyed our meals thoroughly both times here and I highly recommend everyone...
