Really tasty Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup. Taste was smooth, light, yet there’s a level of richness in the cooking. The meat is definitely edible and nice and the rice in the chicken was very sweet and tasty! A complimentary bottle of Ginseng wine was served which made the cold day heart warming. Lovely place. Don’t expect the usual super tender ( meat falling off bones) type of chicken as this shop doesn’t cook their chicken to that level of doneness. But it’s still really nice and I actually prefer this type than those which even the chicken bones are cooked till super soft! The uncle staff was was nice, friendly and speaks English. Though he looked fierce! Lol.

Had late lunch about 2pm on Sunday, convenient as it was just opposite Hotel The Grang. Ginseng chicken soup was served bubbling hot, chicken tender and taste was very much to our liking, side dishes were good but spicy for us. A hearty meal. Young ginseng and ginseng wine was a pleasant addition. The owner, I think, spoke English and explained the dishes to us. We enjoyed our meal very much. Went back for dinner on Wed and were told they close at 8.30pm. Will miss this samgyetang when we return home.

Traditional Ginseng Chicken which is served in a light broth and with the chicken stuffed with glutinous rice. You can choose from 3 choices, traditional, herbal and Abalone. The other 2 are variations of the traditional ginseng with a slight tweak in taste. Very filling serving for one person to finish. They also serve rice wine and a small stalk of ginseng when you arrive.

Decided to give this place a try since we were staying next to the restaurant. The restaurant close at 8:30pm and we arrived at 8pm so dinner was a rush for us. Chicken soups was great and flavourful and the one we ordered had 2 abalones in it. Chickens were tender too. For banchan they served some pickled radish, kimchi, chicken feet and mini ginsengs. And they were generous with their house made ginseng wine too, each table get a small bottle to taste. Overall...
