Bingbingbing Cheongdam — Restaurant in Seoul

I just arrived back in the states and writing this review was my top priority. This is seriously the BEST bingsoo in town and definitely a promising mom and pops place. Me and my family were so desperate for a nice refreshing treat after walking the K-Star Road in the hot and humid sun, and stumbling upon this restaurant was completely worth it. My entire family was so exhausted but one bite of this eliminated any thoughts of fatigue instantaneously. It only specializes in bingsoo so we tried one of each (individual size, but generous). I wish I ordered all 4, but I could only stomach 2 of them for myself.

The milk bingsoo was a taste of icicles from heaven kissed by angels. I told the older lady (maybe the mom who was working alongside her son?) numerous times that it was so amazing and delicious. She was so nice and said she appreciated the kind words - but I could not say it enough.

This place is seriously a hidden gem and considering the upscale neighborhood it's in - def more than reasonable prices - less than $10~! I don't think I can ever get that here in the states. Now I have to wait until the next time I go to Korea...

더라운드 삼성점에서 해선덮밥을 맛있게 먹고 나와 집으로 가는 길에 산책 겸 동네 구경을 하다 보니 the Round 청담점 근처였고 삼성점보다 더 나은 분위기일까 했었는데 오늘 다시 보니 비슷해서 더 나아보이진 않고 좀 더 걷고 싶어 여기저길 기웃거리다 보니 가고싶다에 세이브해둔 페코리노나 스시료센 같은 여러 가게들이 눈에 들어와 그동안 딱히 신경을 안 쓰고 다녀서 안 보였던 거였구나 함.

근처에 가고싶다에 세이브해둔 다른 가게가 있나 보니 여기 빙빙빙이 보여 원랜 더라운드 삼성점을 가기 전에 팥빙수가 좋았던 앙꼬를 들르려다 말았었는데 마침 가게 밖의 메뉴를 보니 1인 메뉴도 있길래 여길 들러봐야겠다 함.

아직 날씨가 따뜻하진 않은 데다 주말이어선지 가게엔 손님이 없었고 가게 안으로 들어서니 주방 안쪽에 앉아 계시던 비교적 단아하신 분위기의 여사장님께서 맞이해 주심.

아마도 대표 메뉴는 밀크빙수인 것 같은데 난 클래식한 팥빙수가 좋아 밀크빙수와 어떻게 다른지 여쭈니 밀크빙수에 팥이 곁들여지는 게 팥빙수라고 하셔서 부탁드림.

주방에서 준비를 하시더니 조금 기다려 가져다 주시면서 팥을 빙수 위에 부으면 밀크빙수가 금방 녹으니 팥은 조금씩 떠서 같이 드시라고 안낼해주심.

먼저 밀크빙수를 맛을 보니 눈 같이 보드라운 질감은 익숙한데 좀 더 보드라운 느낌이고 은은히 달달함.

이번엔 직접 준비하신다는 팥을 곁들여 맛을 보니 역시나 좋긴 한데 뭔가 보드라운 질감에 신경을 쓰신 느낌이어선지 전체적인 팥빙수의 완성도로는 현백 밀탑이나 아니면 아까 들르려고 했던 앙꼬 또는 가성비가 좋았던 반포 소운빙보다 좋아 또 오고싶다의 느낌은 아님.

빨리 녹는 편이어서 좀 서둘러 적당히 맛있게 먹고 트레이를 반납하고 가겔 나옴.

전체적으로 가고싶다에 세이브해둔지 꽤 된 가겐데 우연히 산책하다 보여 불쑥 들러봤는데 보드라운 밀크빙수의 질감에 신경을 쓴 타입의 빙수였고 아까 말했던 가게들보다 더 낫거나 아니면 이 집만의 특별함 같은 건 안...
