FourB, Gwanghwamun — Restaurant in Seoul

When it opened a few years ago, met the owner who explained about the baking approach learned in Japan. So, the bagels may not have the traditional texture, but soft and tasty with complimentary cream cheese. Overall coffee and bagels are above average, however, the SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. The employees need additional training or hire people who want to be in the service industry. The owner should video record the employees and see if that is how you want your customers be treated. Do not expect too much, but don’t want to get service and attitude of “Why are you here? I don’t like my job so don’t ask me for anything”. I recall the owner indicating that he used to be a successful fund manager before being an entrepreneur, so even though it may not be as important in banking, hope he recognizes that the quality of service and hospitality is critical in his new line...

I visited Fourb after stopping by the huge bookstore nearby and chilled out by having coffee with my wife, her friend, and our toddler son. I had a hot flat white, which was milky, smooth, and tasty, while my wife had an iced flat white, which was amazing, perfect balance of strong espresso and milk. We hung out for quite sometime next to the espresso machine, which allowed me to see that the batista freshly ground, weighed, and leveled each shot pulled. Everything was then meticulously cleaned. The attention to detail was pleasing to see.

Prices were very reasonable for the middle of Seoul. The bagels looked great, but we weren't hungry at the time to try them out. Fourb is a great coffee shop to chill out and enjoy coffee with friends!

Lastly, I'm not sure why there is a giant Iron Man statue in the corner of the store,...

A quite well-organized coffee place with various types of bagels. Also they have many kinds of cheese spread for bagels. They serve the bagels and spreads to customers' table directly and call names for coffee. Among beverages, Aussie Ice is recommended. It's similar to Affogato, I guess. They probably roast the beans by themselves so sell the roasted beans as well. It's not that spacious inside. But they arrange the tables and chairs wisely so it may accomodate more people than expected. As you may know, this gwanghwamun area is full of buildings and office places so FourB can get crowded during lunchtime. It means it's quite difficult to take a seat...
