La Seine — Restaurant in Seoul

Beat buffet I've ever been too and I know it will be hard to beat in the future. All you can eat lobster and great reviews are what sold me and neither disappointed. I probably ate 5 whole lobster tails worth or more plus tons of other great foods. The sushi was great and so was the pasta both of which I ate at least two servings of. One of the best parts is that I got to try some foods I've never had before like jellyfish which was actually delicious. The crab legs were just ok but that's all that was mediocre about the place. Service was amazing, they made sure we had everything we needed at all times. Plat s were always gone when we came back and we always had silverwear. They paid attention to when I was done with my main course and went to get dessert and I had a dessert fork waiting for me upon my return. The water they bring out is all free/included both the carbonated or still so is the coffee. The price is $140 per person for dinner plus taxes. You can save 10% by making a reservation online but it can't be a same day reservation. The final bill is close to $300 for two people. The high price of mediocrity. You pay the high price for the fresh ingredients, luxurious aesthetics and the attentive/friendly staff. But the food fell short of amazement. Everything was lukewarm or cold other than the dim-sum. If it's supposed to be crispy, it's soft. If it's supposed to be medium rare it's well-done. Food lacks salt and is quite bland. Though the desserts section, the only section worth raving about as it is the few things that can be prepped ahead of time without losing its quality; which unfortunately is the theme at the buffet. If you want a mostly eurocentric menu with catering to a bland palate but a pinky up atmosphere, I suggest you come here. Otherwise, there are so many more worthy restaurants in the Myeongdong region costing fraction of the value or just head over to Hongdae. Food quality is superb. The seafood is absolutely fresh, the dishes well seasoned and balanced, and the assortment altogether leaves nothing to be desired. The staff, however, was unexpectedly cold and unfriendly which was quite unusual and surprising. It was difficult to spot one smiling face. The barista at the coffee bar was even annoyed by how the customers were not forming two clear lines which was not even indicated anywhere. The coffee, however, was good.
