I found a genuine Indian curry restaurant near Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. To be honest, Indian curry is usually delicious no matter where you eat it. But if you want to experience the authentic taste of Indian vegetarian curry? I recommend visiting Saravanaa Bhavan in Itaewon.
In conclusion, Indian curry, vegetarian cuisine, and luxury seem to be the keywords for this restaurant. The staff, including the owner, are Indians, and there are many foreign customers, especially Indians.
Saravanaa Bhavan opened in December last year, just a one-minute run from Itaewon Station. This restaurant is a franchise started by P. Rajagopal in Chennai, India, in 1981. They claim to showcase traditional vegetarian cooking secrets passed down from around 2300 BC (about 4,000 years ago).
Currently a global brand with over 100 locations worldwide, it has finally arrived at Itaewon's World Food Culture Street!
🍶 Sweet Lassi, Mango Lassi 5,000 / 6,000 KRW Unlike yogurt drinks sold in stores, it's much thicker and maintains its authentic taste. Always order lassi when you visit an Indian curry restaurant! The sweet drink goes down your throat so smoothly.
🍽️ North Indian Thali 25,000 KRW Thali is a traditional South Indian dining style, with various small dishes served on a round metal tray. It includes 2 chapatis (Indian wheat flatbread), dal (lentil dish), vegetable pulao (rice), three North Indian dishes, raita (yogurt sauce), papad (thin crackers), and pickles, all neatly arranged on one tray. Chapati, which means "round and flat," is much thinner and flatter than regular naan. (This is the bread I'm holding up in my feed!) It's light and soft like cotton, perfect for dipping in curry. It was truly amazing and easy to enjoy! When I first received the tray, I thought "Is this all?" but when I actually ate it, it was quite filling.
It's a vegetarian menu that people on a vegan diet can enjoy without worry, and it seems like a great place to dine with foreign friends as it makes conversation flow easily.
I hope you'll also take a small culinary journey to India by visiting Saravanaa Bhavan, the great Indian restaurant in Itaewon, with...

I visited Saravanaa Bhavan in Itaewon three times during my vacation in Seoul, and every visit was a fantastic experience! The food is absolutely authentic, and the portion sizes are generous—perfect for sharing or for a hearty individual meal.
One of the things I appreciated most was how the chefs were happy to adjust the spice level to our taste. We love our food spicy, and they delivered every time without compromising on flavor.
The masala dosa is an absolute must-try—crispy, flavorful, and served with delicious chutneys and sambar. The dal makhani was rich and creamy, a real comfort dish. Don’t miss the masala chai, which was perfectly brewed and spiced, and the staff even recommended pairing it with their snacks—great call!
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially Saff, who made sure we felt welcome and taken care of throughout. Their hospitality added a warm, personal touch to the whole experience.
Highly recommend Saravanaa Bhavan if you're in Seoul and craving authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine. I’ll definitely be back next time...
