Excellent place for Korean Barbecue, the restaurant is not so big so I suppose that if you are planning to go in busy hours like lunch or dinner it should be better to make a reservation in advance, the place is clean and you don’t get the feeling like in other barbecues that many things are sticky because the smoke of the barbecue. The quality of the food and taste is very good, the menu is in Korean but with photos, the staff speaks limited English but that’s not a real problem to get what you want, the staff is very friendly and they will get what do you want. The side dishes are really good as well, the soup that they brought as side dish was really good you should try it, I posted a photo if you don’t know how to order just show them the photo. We try this time beef and beef in Korea is expensive, so my bill came very high but they have more economic options, I will say for all budgets it shouldn’t be a problem to get adjusted to any budget. If you want to try a real Korean Barbecue this is one of the places you should go. The location is not directly in main road or touristic attractions but as well not so far away, any taxi or with subway is easy to arrive.

Wangbijib is Korean bbq restaurant in city hall behind Hana bank building in Myeongdong. Unlike the other restaurants in the area, this restaurant is far more friendly to foreign customers. Our table was attended by Jeongjeong. She was attentive and excellent in helping us. - Sirloin beef Han Woo (Korean version of wagyu beef). Great marbling and very tender. 4.8 stars - Charcoal - grilled bulgogi, nicely marinated 4.7 stars - Premium Korean pork belly. The pork meat was fresh and tender (no smell) 4.8 stars - Beef tartare. Combined with the chopped pear and fresh egg yolk, this dish was outstanding. 4.9 stars - Kimchi pancake. This was the best in Seoul! 4.9 stars - Spicy buckwheat noodle (cold). This dish was amazingly delicious. The sour and spicy taste combined with cold chewy noodle was a perfect blend of tasting experience. 4.9 stars - Beef soybean paste stew. This was also nice. 4.6 stars The service was fairly quick and friendly. Atmosphere is standard of Korbeq place. All in all, I would rate this restaurant a 4.8 / 4.9 stars. Must must must try this while in Seoul!

Firstly, the staff here are a mixed bag. On one end, you’ve friendly staff who are actually interested in serving. On the other hand, there were some staff who were clearly indifferent, nonchalant & disinterested in customers. Secondly, the staff messed up our order as we ordered several cuts of beef & pork but only one slab of pork & beef was served each. Later on, when we asked where our pork was, they insisted the pork had been served. It was no big deal and we just ordered it again. But when the pork came, it just confirmed our suspicion that they hadn’t served it to us previously as we definitely hadn’t had that cut of meat. Pork belly and pork ribs taste & look completely different, so there’s that. Thirdly, the food was actually pretty good! The sides were decisions and the beef cuts were amazing. The raw beef dish was splendid as well. Overall, for the price, you shouldn’t be paying for the food only as there’s no rarity in bbq restaurants with good meat in Seoul.

We went here for dinner while visiting and saw tons of great reviews on Google Maps, so figured we’d give it a try. First impressions were fine. We asked the waitress for suggestions and ended up ordering one beef and one pork dish.

The menu photos showed plates with 3 pieces of meat, but we only got one piece each, which felt super misleading. Then a waiter came over and started cooking the meat for us. Honestly, it was uncomfortable and awkward. We would’ve preferred to just cook it ourselves without someone standing there the whole time.

Price wise, the menu showed around $29–$35 for what we ordered, but the total came out to over $80 (turns out one slice of beef was $50 🙄). Definitely felt ripped off. The guy at the counter was also super dismissive and rude.

I paid and left, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but yeah, not a great experience. Later realized they got high ratings because they offer a free dish for reviews. 🙄 Wouldn’t recommend. Read the 1-star reviews first, they’re way...
