Y'east — Restaurant in Seoul

The small team at Y'east prepare a superb fine dining experience. The sma initimate restaurant only handles 13 covers in the lunch and evening sessions, with the majority of people being served in a bar area, in the heart of the food prep area. There is a small private dining room that can accomodate 5 people. The food is exceptional, perfectly presented and explained in excellent english. I had the wine paring which worked very well with the food. The entire service was slick and effortless. We have been to a few Michelin starred restaurants and Y'east is up there. We nearly went to another well known 2 star Michelin but they could not accomodate my wife's dietary requirement, however Y'east could do so with minimal fuss, hence why we choose it. Y’east was a wonderful dining experience. We had the small private dining room for our wedding anniversary . The food is well thought out and has great respect for the ingredients. The presentation was clever and the instructions on how to actually approach each dish was a smart addition. We had the wine pairing and it was very much on point, the sommelier was a delight to chat with. The Chef came to our table many times during service and was very informative, I hope he enjoyed the bottle of Tasmanian Riesling we gifted him. An excellent intimate dining experience. This place is worthy of its current Michelin recommendation but absolutely deserves a star. The service is top notch with each course explained to you at the dining bar counter after you have watched the small team of chefs prepare each plate. Every single dish of the dinner tasting course was phenomenal. The wain pairing should not be overlooked, again each choice is carefully selected and presented with tasting notes and how it hopefully complements each dish. Again, nothing short of perfection.
