I even feel sorry leaving this review but i ended up so disappointed from the food (and i read all of each review and was excited about this place), this rating is only about the food. I expected the food to actually taste good perhaps excellent but it was all the opposite. We ordered hummus and falafel, seitan scallops and potatoes/Mushrooms croquettes. Hummus was dry and the falafel where ok but tasted nothing like the original falafel and they had some crunchy stuff that i guess it was fried almonds. Potatoes/Mushroom/Millet croquettes the predominant flavor was actually raw chickpea flour, i expected them to taste like any of the ingredients they supposed to be made ugh, plus they were very dry too. Seitan scallops was charged 10€ for this s*, i never had such a terrible bad seitan, it was so so INSIPID, tasted literally like nothing... Ever tried tofu without any condiment? Well tofu taste 1000 times better. I couldn't finish it not even with the veganaise and was so mad about it because i hate to leave food on the plate that ends up going in the garbage, it was served with uncooked potatoes, yes they were half raw lol, unbelievable, and again tasted like nothing, simple unsalted half boiled potatoes and a "salad" made of lettuce, red cabbage, 3 slices of carrots and apples. Felt heavy after the food and had to drink lots of water. The guys were Italian i think, guess i should have ordered Italian dishes. Now, Thanks god the dessert was better, we ordered chocolate ice-cream and mango sorbet both good but i didn't come here to have dessert. Last but not least the staff was very friendly as everyone said, and the restaurant is located in a quite area.
Won't recommend and won't come back, and i'm glad i didn't go with non-vegan friends because i would've felt so ashamed to explain them this is not how vegan food are supposed to taste like. Seems the owner flagged my review. My god guys, accept not everyone...
Read moreA much-needed plant-based spot in Tenerife — with food worth travelling for.
Buena Vida is a Mediterranean-Italian restaurant that really deserves attention. It’s slightly tucked away, which is the only reason I gave one star less for atmosphere — not because of the setting (which is lovely), but because this place belongs somewhere more central and visible. It has the kind of quality and purpose that should be easy to find.
My partner and I shared the lasagna and paella both were excellent in very different ways and complemented each other well. Bold flavours, generous portions, and clearly made with care. We started with a great glass of wine and a cold Estrella, and the whole meal just had a relaxed, thoughtful rhythm to it.
The highlight for me, though, was the tiramisu. I haven’t had any tiramisu vegan or not in over ten years, so having this was a real treat. It tasted how I remember it: light, rich, and completely satisfying. Something I won’t forget anytime soon.
The owner and team clearly care deeply about what they’re doing. They’re offering something valuable not just for vegans, but for anyone who appreciates good food with a conscience. In a place where plant-based options can be limited or overlooked, this kind of restaurant matters and i would not just recommend, but encourage you to try this, not just for the food, but for what it represents.

Read moreWonderful fresh and tasty food. We were looking for vegan and gluten free food on Tenerife. Even my parents 60+ (first time vegan dining) joined and were amazed. The restaurant is a bit hidden in a mall close to the beach. Tables are mostly outside in the mall court, well protected against wind and sunshine. You should definitely get a reservation beforehand, e.g. effortless by using WhatsApp. Other wise you might end up waiting for a table in line. We luckily followed that advice and were seated immediately. While waiting for our main dishes, some salty chickpea pastery with herbal garlic cream was served by the hosts. We ordered the spicy tex-mex burger with homemade gluten free buns and fruity Caribbean mango chilli. Super tasty, huge portions and energizing plant based dishes. Except the deserts, they were rather cozy and just fantastic! We tried the cheese cake and tiramisu - both also gluten free. Our waitress was super friendly and fluent in English. We would love to come back soon. A wonderful experience of our Tenerife trip :) PS: Try the...
