A quite long beach, with places that have larger waves, and a quiet, warm corner at the far right end, perfect for little children. The water has rocks right next to it, though, so watch out. It's usually crowded on the weekends, but it's not too bad. The restaurants are decent, but while one has great soups and desserts, the other has better main dishes. Try different ones to find what you like best. Shops, however, are overpriced and the quality of the clothes isn't the best. Definitely try to barter, the owners seem to be more than willing to give a couple of euro discounts. The beach is pretty clean, as far as a popular tourist spot can be clean. No changing rooms, however, which is a huge minus and a ridiculous problem to have in this day and age. There are multiple bars along the beach, and you can rent loungers with umbrellas. Obviously overpriced. Same with the activities, like parasailing. The wandering salesmen and women can be quite annoying, and I don't recommend buying the picnic blankets, or whatever they are called, the stores have the same thing cheaper. Same could be said about the sunglasses, purses, belts, etc. There is a small supermarket, but other than food, water and icecream, try to buy everything else from the smaller stores for better prices. It feels ridiculous that I need to say this, but many tourists seem to be unaware that the tide exists. It comes twice a day. It covers a large portion of the beach, so if you settle down close to the water, check the water levels regularly. Also, use suncream!! The sun is very strong in Tenerife, even just a couple weeks ago someone was taken to the hospital with bad sunburns. It's not a joke. 15 minutes are enough to get red...
Read moreHolidayed in area for 2 weeks in Nov 2018. Happily surprised by general cleanliness of the Fanabe area of Adeje . All the amenities of a modern holiday destination. Most of a kilometer of beach lined with shops/restaurants/bars and a street back from the beach another row of shops . There are several shopping centres in the immediate area which is mostly populated by quality hotels. There are a limited number of serviced areas on the actual beach which is a narrow stretch of dark sand not very well maintained. During our stay water was quite warm and air temp 22 to 24 C but waves rough ... 2 much so for older people to go in & out except at one end where a cliff and breakweter juts out forming a shelrltered small bay. There are steps around the area but all new developments have wheelchair access which you can look out for if u are unsteady on your feet. Generally though.... a much more modern area and quieter than neighbouring... Las Americas and...
