Hawai II — Restaurant in Adeje

A honest review from start to finish... chap outside trying to get custom was very pleasent although usual rubbish when he spoke "best steak ever, we will do this & that" ... i wish they wouldnt & just let you study the menu at your own leisure! Anyway... we entered ... dissapointed at the lack of service table wasnt laid out when we got there but hey ho were not posh ... drinks first of all took ages to arrive from point of ordering (if your thirsty go elsewhere) it wasnt busy either! ... food again took too long to arrive. This is where the 2* came from ... food was actually pretty good cheese sauce was tastless but food as a whole was actually okay not the best not worst but was good. This is where it gets worse... asked for bill 10 minutes later didnt arrive but the waiter did insisting a 2nd time we had a dessert or a coffee!! To which we replied No thanks we want the bill for a 2nd time ... another 10 minutes passed when a tall young waiter turns up & insists on the change from the bill is his! We had to ask for our change! Found this very uncomfortable he literally kept filling the complementary shots until we left a tip as he was insistant & rude! We left rather annoyed to put it politely & we always tip however on this occasion we didnt... partly down to the fact it felt like we were being forced to have more drinks or dessert and it definatley felt we were being forced to tip! ... we left with feeling that the place is a momey grabber service is not great which is a shame as the food was OK. We wont return as it rather upset us on leaving to the point that we felt like we had to spend more. I assume the manager is the small asain lady and the young tall bearded waiter is in on the act of money grabbing. Shame really! Was very disappointed with my experience here, started off staff being pleasant but where we were seated we were swarmed by flies! Which was an off put in itself! We asked for spicy wings and garlic bread with cheese and tomato base and the wings came out plain, and the garlic bread came out with what looked like a tin of chopped tomato poured over it.

Both myself and my partners steaks came out, T-bone and sirloin. Both steaks weren’t seasoned at all they were very bland and the meat was very rubbery, we explained to the staff that we didn’t enjoy the steaks and the started to give attitude because we didn’t like them , they stood over us demanding us explain why and when we said the meat isn’t great they argued this is the best Moroccan meat you can get. After the manager spoke with the staff then other staff came over lifting our plates and gave us attitude.

There was no apology and any form of compensation (not that it was expected). When we left the premises the manager stood outside and blanked us as we left.

There was 11 of us, from the very start there was problems, staff where incompetent, hard to understand and quiet whilst interaction. to gain there attention was hard, you had to go up to them, and then it was hit and miss, if what you ask would happen at a reasonable time. Food was at a low and frankly bad standard for what you are paying for. I had to wait 15 minutes to ask for extra wraps, which for the amount that you got, it was un-seeable to put that in two wraps to start with. Everyone meal was messed up, or was cold or bland. And the pizza was in mixed cooling condition, what are they using a 6 temperature cooker. Toilet standard was bad, dirty in all areas which the photo don't tell the whole story. We will not be coming back here in our right mind. If I could this star ratting would be -5, for lack of communication, and staff interaction experience.
