Wakanda Terrace Bar, Food & Cocktails — Restaurant in Adeje

We have been visiting Wakanda Bar since 2022 and every year it has been one of our favourite places in Tenerife. The atmosphere is always great, the music is good, and the overall vibe has kept us coming back.

Unfortunately, during our most recent visit (yesterday) we had a very unpleasant experience with one member of staff, which we feel the management should be made aware of: At around 1:20am, a waiter (the man in the attached picture) asked us to move outside so he could tidy up before closing time at 2am. We accepted this without any issue and moved outside as requested. Once outside, we asked politely to order a few more drinks, but this waiter refused and told us we had to leave the club completely. His explanation was that we were not “respecting” his need to finish at 2am. He then became aggressive and insulting towards us. His behaviour escalated to the point where other staff members had to intervene, hold him back, and apologise for his actions.

We want to be clear: we do not believe this represents Wakanda Bar or its management. For years, this has been a fantastic venue with great energy. However, no customer should ever be threatened by staff.

It takes years to build the good reputation and atmosphere that Wakanda has, but only seconds for one arrogant and unstable employee to damage it. This man is clearly in the wrong job and his behaviour puts both customers and the reputation of the bar at risk.

We hope management takes this incident seriously. Wakanda Bar is a special place in Tenerife, and we want it to continue to be a place people...

We went here after a meal to grab a drink, the reviews seemed good and quite like a 'lounge bar' vibe with DJ. We found a seat and the waiter took our drinks order.

A family came and sat at the adjacent table and ordered their drinks, which arrived fairly promptly but I put this down to their order being fairly simple and consisting of bottled drinks whereas ours were a frozen daiquiri and frozen colada.

The same waiter came over to take our order after about 10 minutes, as though we hadn't ordered! We explained we hadn't had our first round and that we'd been waiting a while. He looked confused and went to the bar and presumably re-requested the order.

After another 10 minutes the drinks finally arrived. One wasn't frozen, half the glass was froth and fairly tasteless, so I took this up to the bar and said to the waiter who took our order that we wanted a frozen colada. He passed it to a member of bar staff, presumably to chuck in a blender with ice and re-glass.

I went back and sat down, tried my drink and again it was bland, as though a glass of crushed ice had been sat near to a punnet of strawberries at some point. Fed up I took my drink up and explained it had no flavour and that we were leaving.

I wouldn't usually read the 1* reviews because they're often trivial or pedantic but this place is as bad as they say unfortunately. Easily the worst place visited...

Ah le wakanda .. bon que dire ..

J’arrive mercredi soir juste pour prendre un verre avant d’aller en club ..

On m’installe à droite côté extérieur rue sur une banquette double de 2 personnes .

Je prend donc mon verre , un groupe de 4 personne arrive , 2 femmes qui étaient seule sur une table configuree comme la mienne ce lève et se joigne à moi pour libérer l’espace pour le groupe qui vient d’arriver , ok bon je ne suis pas contre partager la même table avec ces femmes .

L’une des 2 tables est bancal , mon mojito tombe par terre ! Je dis au serveur je suis désolé etc , bref il me le change pour un nouveau gracieusement ..

Je discute avec ces 2 femmes , elles prennent une chicha et me propose de fumer avec eux , ce que je fais , la personne qui gère les chichas vient pour encaisser le montant de la chicha , les filles m’invitent .

Je retourne prendre un verre au bar et en même temps je règle mes 2 consommations A ce moment là , je dis au chef du bar que je ne suis pas avec ces femmes mais qu’elles sont venue sur ma table pour libérer celle d’à côté ..

Il me dis ah ok !! Mais elles n’ont pas payé leurs sangria ! Je lui dis ok de voir ça avec elles , que je ne sais pas du tout , je ne les connais pas plus que ça et que moi par contre j’ai payé mes verres !!

Bref ! La soirée ce passe et les filles partent , je n’ai pas prêté attention si elles ont payé ou pas ..

Je venais de reprendre un vodka redbull a 9€ !!

Le chef de bar arrive vers moi et me dis , oh !! Elles sont où les filles ???

Je dis je ne sais pas , elles sont parties !! Il me dit ! Oh ? Mais qui va payer !! ?? Je lui répond je ne sais pas , c’est pas mon problème et que je l’avais prévenue que je ne connaissais pas ces filles !!

Là il débarrasse la table énervé !! Mon verre est encore plein !!!

Il me dis maintenant tu pars !! Il me traite comme si je suis un voleur ! Je Lui dis quoi ??? Il me dis tu pars tout de suite !! Il me met la honte devant tout le monde , j essaye 3 fois de parler avec lui il veut rien entendre & je dis que je ne suis pas un voleur !! J’ai honte d’être traiter comme ça !!

La finalité de l’histoire est .. j’ai payé un vodka redbull 9 € tu me l’a prise et débarrassé en me faisant passer pour un voleur ..

Mais qui est le voleur dans cette dernière situation ?

Il faut faire attention à ce que l’on fait & à qui on le fait , personne ne doit ce sentir humilié de la sorte

Un touriste qui ne reviendra plus jamais au Wakanda et surtout ne le conseillera pas

Ps : j’ai pas mis une étoile parce que l’on sanctionne pas toute une équipe pour le mauvais comportement...
