My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Restaurante Donaire during our June holiday in Tenerife, and it was an experience that truly lived up to its Michelin star reputation. From the moment we arrived, everything about the decor and service screamed top-tier culinary excellence. The elegant ambiance, paired with impeccable attention to detail from the staff, set the stage for an unforgettable meal. The view, undoubtedly a highlight, offered a stunning backdrop that complemented the sophisticated atmosphere perfectly—though I’ll leave the specifics to your imagination to discover upon visiting! The tasting menu, aptly named “Victoria Menu,” was a journey through innovative flavors and textures, divided into Overture, Main Act, and Finale. We began with the Overture, where the Salty Petit Fours and Liquid Millet Donut provided a delightful start, followed by the Smoked Sardine with green mojo and sweet potato, which showcased a harmonious blend of smoky and tangy notes. The Textured Guayonje Onion with wakame and Korean mayonnaise was a creative surprise, while the Passion Fruit-Coriander Sour added a refreshing zest. The Airy Bread with yeast ice cream and Osetra caviar was a standout—luxurious yet light. The Appetizer of Canarian tomatoes dressed in the purest Donaire style was a nod to local ingredients, presented with finesse. The Main Act elevated the experience further. The Choux with tuna, red mojo, papa negra, and peanut offered a playful yet refined dish, while the Beetroot with “macho” vinegar and Aquanaria sea bass, complemented by goat milk chantilly, was a masterful balance of earthy and creamy. The Camarón Soldado with shrimp, chickpeas, and nori seaweed brought a delightful seaside essence, and the Cheesecake with goat cheese, aubergine, roasted garlic, coriander seeds, and Cherne was a bold, savory twist. The Opalys 33% white chocolate with herring roe, capers, Madagascar vanilla was an adventurous pairing that worked surprisingly well. Finally, the Cochino Negro—pork belly with vegetable demi-glace, carrot romesco, and mustard blanquette—was a rich, tender centerpiece that showcased the kitchen’s skill. The Finale brought a sweet conclusion with the Amalfi, featuring lemon, basil, and olive oil—a light, zesty delight. The Ephemeral Garden with orange, orange blossom, ginger, and mulberry offered a floral, fruity escape, while the Chocopig with Kidawa Chocolate 50%, banana, fried corn, and Iberian ham was an inventive, savory-sweet finale that left us talking about it long after. Every dish was a testament to the creativity and precision that earned Donaire its Michelin star. The portion sizes were perfectly balanced for a tasting menu, allowing us to savor each course without feeling overwhelmed. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, with staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to guide us through the experience. If you’re visiting Tenerife and seeking a culinary adventure, Restaurante Donaire is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return on our next trip!

An absolutely wonderful dining experience at Donaire, to celebrate a special occasion. The service was impeccable, warm and efficient, and all the food was perfectly curated, cooked and presented beautifully. The attention to detail was exquisite throughout, and each item on each plate was a joy to behold, smell and taste. The cutlery and tableware were also extremely eye-catching, intriguing and creatively designed, and reflected the level of care and thought put into the whole experience. We had the 9-course Victoria tasting menu without the wine pairing, and had a glass of cava and cocktails instead. The standout dishes for us were the gnocchi, mackerel, Canarian tomato appetiser, and the Amalfi dessert, although everything else was also quite faultless. The only downside, for us, was the live music, which was not our cup of tea, but other than that, we had a fabulous time, so thank you very much for showing us a truly excellent time!

Situated on the fourth floor of GF Victoria Hotel in Costa Adeje, right behind the Plaza del Duque shopping centre, the views over the town and the La Gomera-Tenerife Channel are lovely. This spacious dining room is entirely suited to fine dining, with acres of space between tables.

We're on the Victoria menu which is their flagship offer. It says eleven courses, but really we count fourteen as the bread with four flavoured butters is a virtually course in it's own right, and petit fours arrive at the end.

From the outset every course is a taste explosion, tempting as it is I won't work though every mouthful. Noteworthy mentions are aerated bread, Canarian tomatoes, beetroot, cherne, belly pork, Pad Thai and chocopig but every one is awesome.

The seven paired wines are all perfectly curated, three from local growers, and the others are two French, one Spanish and one Californian. Each one works well with it's designated course(s).

The staff are excellent, supremely professonal and with impeccable timing, make this gastronimic evening a well-run theatrical performance.

There’s no doubt in our minds that we have found a very fine restaurant, and happily it’s right on...

We had a wonderful celebration of my husband’s Birthday! Many thanks to Miguel who was super friendly and professional in organizing the evening, despite some miscommunication with the reservation which was solved fast. The dishes were meticulously prepared and served with a lot of creativity. The best part for us was the dessert: both dishes (Humide and Amalfi) +petits fours were unique, even provocative, imaginative and unexpected to the tastebuds. I need to compliment the pastry chef for such exquisite experience. We may never forget the taste of these desserts, truly an art! The starters and main dishes were also very good: veal cheeks dish is tender complimented by rich yucca puree, and the starter of smoked eel was exploding your palette by unexpected combination with peanut sauce and pear. All in all we applaud to the team and recommend this place for a special event, as it delivers the quality you expect from such a...
