Oriental Slow Boat — Restaurant in Adeje

Great food, but above all, excellent service We have eaten here twice during our 6 night holiday here with our 8 month old son and one set of grandparents, and all of us agreed the food is delicious! Nice selection of Oriental food with some sushi, Chinese and Thai dishes. The sushi is fresh and tasty, the Chinese dishes are stellar, and the Thai red curry although it tasted nothing like a Thai red curry, was very good as well. What I would have loved is a few tofu dishes as we're trying to eat more plant based, but for most this place will be perfect. Worth noting that my Mum who has a very sensitive stomach has been able to eat a few things from here and not had any adverse reaction so they clearly have high standards of food hygiene.

From the point of view of travelling with a young person, it's one of few baby friendly restaurants due to being open early (we have arrived around 6pm) and they have great Antilop baby high chairs which are always spotlessly clean. They were helpful to provide a small bowl for our baby's food, and one of the waitresses was providing baby entertainment. :-) Given the location being semi covered outdoors by a quiet road, it feels very COVID secure, and noise does not travel from one table to the next (so don't worry if you do see families with children eating here, you likely won't be able to hear them). Toilets are also nice and clean.

On top of all the other positives, prices are also very reasonable especially when the quality of food is taken into...

The slow boat looked the part from the outside at a distance but upon walking into the restaurant l felt l was holding back the staff from their cigarette breaks as they where all sitting by the kerb side smoking.

We ordered a curry and a sweet and sour chicken, firstly l gad to double check that the curry was a curry as it was rather bland and didn't taste of much, apparently it was, there must have been a shortage of spices during our visit.

The chicken from the sweet and sour was rather rubbery and looked as if was cooked through the deep fat fryer, lacked in much flavour such as seasoning.

The only good thing we had was our coca colas, sadly we wouldn't ever return or recommend this one as you can buy a shop bought curry & sweet & sour at one tenth of the price that would be...

Booked the table for 6:30pm for when it was very quiet. Got there at 6:25pm . There was only a party of four already inside that were between starter & main, after 15min we started our order and ordered an expensive bottle of wine , 1 spare Ribs with Capital sauce & two main courses, before the waiter had left the table wine waiter arrived with the wine, (that was quick) 15 min the Ribs arrived luke warm very little meat. Waste of time, 7:40pm no main meal arrived despite everyone else who arrived after us getting there meal. We asked for our bill for the wine and left not before a public argument with the owners who insisted we paid for the pork Ribs. I didn't and left. Without so much as an apology from the owners.
