I have to give it 1 star as the food was terrible. Staff and service were nice and can't fault them. Food was a shambles.
I don’t understand all the positive reviews as I live in England and understand that people from there don't complain when they get terrible food, but these reviews? Mental.
Nothing but the Canarian potatoes and my son's plain tomato and basil pasta tasted like what it should have tasted like: My Father-in-law's teriyaki chicken was passable but mediocre at best. My mother-in-law's Caeser salad? Some type of weird salad cream but not Caeser. Caeser is a defined thing so you can't give me peppery mayo and say "Caeser. Get it in!" My wife's pork cheek was cooked soft, but the juice and potatoes tasted like incense. Terrible. My fresh pasta and sausage (called something Spanish on menu) tasted like incense as well, and the pasta was fresh but tasted like wholemeal dough flour. Worse fresh pasta I ever had. I needed stodge as had to sleep deep as was going fishing early today, but, as I told my family, it was the worst tasting thing I had eaten a whole plate of in 20 years. Calamari was six pieces of chewy guff out of an Iceland bag.
Other bits were guff but know this is too ling already, but do yourself a favour and don't be convinced as there are many Hard Rock guests there (as we are as it's across the street from HR and we are), and walk 300 feet further around the bend to El Mayeq or the opposite direction to Restuarante Judith (both excellent) and pay a small bit less for 100x better food. Or one of the cheap but Ok places with huge menus on the side of it close to Hiperdino. You at least get what you pay for there, and they aren’t bad. Way better than Yummy, tbf.
Tourist trap. 4.6 stars? On a scale to 15. Maybe.
And don’t mean to be insulting to management. But you have to do...
Read moreMy friend and I went for our last meal in Tenerife. The bread rolls were probably the best thing to come out to us.
My friend had the ham and mushroom pizza. Which was just covered in loads of basil, it looked like a jungle. The mushrooms tasted and looked like slugs, the ham wasn’t so great either and the pizza wasn’t cooked properly as it was mushy.
I ordered the penne tomato basil pasta. Half of the pasta wasn’t cooked properly through. You could cut in half and see it wasn’t fully cooked and it was also hard. The garlic bread was burnt and salty but more edible than the pizza and the pasta.
The one waiter came to the table to ask if everything was okay as he could see my friend wasn’t eating her pizza and they did take it back and take the pizza off the receipt. They said they were sorry about the food and were great about it.
We picked it because it looked nice and had a high rating. Disappointed it wasn’t all that and I have no clue why it has such a high rating
Personally I wouldn’t...
Read moreSeemed popular with a nice relaxed atmosphere. However, Lasagne arrived undercooked and cold in the middle, rustic sized Parmesan shavings on the top. Had to take it back.
Moments later, the same portion arrived. The Parmesan had melted with the spinach on top wilted. My wife tried it and again decided it was inedible. The waiter took it away.
Without having had a satisfactory dish we expected it to have been removed from the bill. It wasn't.
When I questioned why it was still on there, the waiter remonstrated with me and argued they had delivered the meal.
After saying it wasn't his job to remove the price, I asked him to consult with others.
Clearly angry with me, he returned and took the price of the dish off the meal, telling me he was going to get into trouble with the owner.
Perhaps the owner would be better places ensuring the kitchen did not send out undercooked food in the...
