Good experience at this little place at the tail end of the bustling cove of restaurants. Servers were lovely and attentive. We sat outside but took a gander inside and you can tell that this is a family oriented restaurant with lots to keep the kiddos entertained.
For the food, we had the ‘bravíssimas’ which was a fun take on the traditional name of patatas bravas. The sauce was unique and more on the sweeter side if you like that. We ordered the mussels in a wine sauce which turned out to be a cream wine sauce to our surprise. It was tasty but would say that the fact that the majority of the mussel shells were broken with sharp edges (a bit hazardous if you’re like me and enjoy slurping the mussel right out of the shell) is what dropped the rating from 5 stars to 4. The chicken skewers were by far the best dish! The chicken was perfectly grilled, moist and the sauce very flavourful. I was thrilled with the couscous that accompanied it, aromatic with a touch to crunch from the seeds/nuts. Would...
Read moreExpected spanish 'como en casa' (like at home) dishes, but at my surprise there was curry, pizza and some other not spanish dishes.. a bit dissapointing.
Starters: Garlic bread (big 3 pieces) Chicken croquettes Spinach crocuettes Prawn salad All were tasty.
Main dishes: Cod fish - fish was really oversalted, mashed potatoes were nice. Pizza - nice Chicken curry (children menu) - was ok.
Desert: "Brownie" - dry, not recommending Pana cota - has a bit feeling of starch, not really enjoyful..
Sangria- like a punch, really tasty.
What was really not pleasant is sticky table, no placemats, no mats under drinks - table was drowning in melted ice from the glasses.. And when waitress brought us spoons for desert she just put them on the table, not a clean plate, not even on a clean table napkin.. So quite strange and unhygienic..
Wish you improve your service and...
Read moreLovely family run restaurant located at the top end of an alley full of restaurants and could easily be missed. Menu was very reasonably priced with a good choice. Most importantly the food was delicious and clearly freshly home made. Staff very friendly and attentive. My only advice is don't be put of by the orange plastic chairs at street level !! They need changed as it cheapens the look compared to the busier more expensive restaurants further down the alley. My wife also likes gleaming white table cloths which were also absent compared to their competitors! Just a customer observation which may attract more customers as this family run restaurant deserves all the passing trade it can bring in. Lovely well priced restaurant - but bin those...
